Its location A very tired hotel in need of extensive refurbishment to return it to its former status. The room heating was very poor, the television choice was extremely limited, the bathroom was in need of repair / refurbishment and the dining room smelt very stale. Not an enjoyable stay.

It was a convenient base for where I wanted to be for the days that I stayed. Lack of hot water at 0530 in the morning rooms need updating as they are a little tired and do not represent the price charged couple of lightbulbs blown that were never changed despite leaving the blown bulb at the bottom of the lamp, this was taken away and not replaced

The staff were really good with me especially in the restaurant and the food was good. There was a big screen for the tv in the Muse bar - great for footie fans. Although I didn't use the them, there was a pool and gym facilities as well. All of the staff were well turned out and very polite and mannerly. The price of my room was excellent and puts some of the budget chains to shame especially that it included breakfast. The general decor was a bit tacky and worn and the furnishings were very tired looking. This includes the hotel areas as well as the bedroom. Although clean, my room felt quite tired and old and smelt a bit of damp. The whole place needs a good re-furb and the beds need replaced. And get some digital channels in the rooms - it says there is Sky news, well I couln't find it.

The gym and swimming pool facilities. We were very disappointed with our stay. Our booking for four nights didnt seem to have been made even though we had email confirmation. The lady on reception didnt listen to us saying we had made a reservation, and was not interested in seeing our email, and only checked us in for one night. When we went to check the next day, it was as if we were the ones causing problems by staying extra nights when actually we had booked for four nights originally. Our room was pleasant but the bathroom bin hadnt been emptied, the floor was stained by a tea-bag in the bin and someone had left a large macdonalds drink by the bath- not a very good first impression. The bath was broken and so side panal made a noise every time we opened or closed a door. The lights in the hallway didnt work so we couldnt use the full sized mirror which was there. The whole hotel seems dated and in need of renovation and I am not sure it meets it star rating.. We were there to see family and friends over the christmas period and it did put a dampner on our stay.

I was only there overnight on a business trip but from the short time I was there the staff were very friendly and I used the pool before breakfast which meant I started the day feeling good. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay and I would recommend if any of my friends are in the area

The staff were very friendly The cleanliness in the bathroom could have been better. The block walls in the room resembled a prison cell! The bed was a bit hard.

Rooms outdated, scruffy, dirty. Old fashioned TV with poor reception and only terrestial channels working - I can buy a TV like that for under £5 on Ebay ! Food overpriced and poor quality, the buffet style breakfast was not hot. Receptionist unfriendly, unhelpful. £75 for a room in this hotel is hugely overpriced, its only worth £40 to £50 at best. The whole place is in desparate need of re-furbishment (or demolition !)

The dining room at the hotel is its best feature, the breakfast was adequate and well displayed. Dining room staff were courteous and helpful. We found the room small with only one chair for two guests. The furniture I.E. bedside tables and dresser badly in need of refurbishing. We were disappointed to be given a room so far from the main building as one guest was disabled. Our booking was made well in advance of our arrival but it seemed that priority was given to a wedding party the day of our arrival. Our stay was something of a disappointment.

I stayed at the hotel a few years ago and at that time it was the best hotel in Peterhead, however it seem's a little run down. The Bar menu could do with a little freshening up.

Good parking, good facilities (swimming pool etc), breakfast was excellent, rooms quiet despite wedding going on. Hardwired broadband point in room. Overpriced. Needs a lick of paint. Furniture tired and damaged. Wifi weak and expensive, tv remotes missing and freeview broken on the 2 TV's we had.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Location suited the purpose of our visit. Good food. (Did not use other facilities) Very disurbed first night due to neighbouring guests who had attended a wedding on site. Followed by fire alarm first thing in the morning. some refurbishment required - frayed bed cover, furnishings getting tatty!

Having on several ocassions utilised the Waterside both on business and for pleasure the hotel offers good facilities with the location close to Peterhead and with the Spa. The food was excellent again on this visit. At my visit a wedding party was in place and the place was pretty merry! The weather was alas typically Scottish or rather much worse which limited the walking activities intended but the hotel cannot be in control of this obviously.
