Score from 83 reviews Very good
General cleanliness - our carpet in the room hadn't seen a hoover for weeks covered in hairs ? Dogs. The bedroom windows were filthy on the inside my husband actually washed them himself. Decor very shabby in general. Dining room chairs had not been dusted Noise at night/early morning from room above
The room was very poorly maintained , Electric kettle didn't work. Power point didn't work, toilet seat very loose, carpet dirty, Wi Fi not available in room. Very poor value for money.
Spacious room with good outlook Nice grounds
Not the cleanest I've been in and looking a bit 'end of season'. Meal expensive for what it was. Public transport poor.
You can walk out of rear gate into Brockenhurst centre. Lovely garden - unfortunately too rainy for us. Lovely bar area where we ate so dog could be with us. Clean and crisp bed line
Rooms a little dated but outweighed by good clean linen. Dinner was a bit expensive for what is was although breakfast was excellent and they also provided gluten free bread!
Junior staff pleasant and tried hard
Liked the staff, the vibe, everything was easy, relaxed, and the Secret Garden is really a beautiful and interesting and fun place. All day bar is great - and there are very generous amounts of soaps and towels and other supplies in the bathrooms - very comfortable. Staff smile genuinely - a really comfortable, friendly, helpful atmosphere prevails.
gluten free cakes ran out before we could get to them - not a major complaint at all :-)
Quiet location. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good facilities.
General décor was tired and could do with modernisation. Rather a lot of stairs and doors to get to room.
No pressure and very helpful.
Dirty room dusty floors 2 shampoos for 2 people 2 shower jell for 3 days shower hard to get working and only trinkles brackfast over cooked had to ask for coffe and tea 1 tea bag in teapot 4 ,6 people no milk or normal condiments on table .manager said he was a guest on the evening but manager in the morning staff not able to talk much English swimming pool very dirty spoke to the manager when booking out overcharge 100 pounds more than quoted but after afew sharp words put the bill right but still charged extra for breakfast that was sent back with black human hair
Very comfy beds. The staff were very friendly. Excellent location & great secret garden for tea. Nice swimming pool.
The traditional character and homely feel of the hotel and great location.all amenities like local shops, banks, railway station etc are very close . lovely quirky tea garden on the premises.
The doors would do well to have a slow/soft bang mechanism fitted.they bang loudly. The room not as clean as it could be..though sheets and towels spotless. Like most service establishments these days; mainly eastern European staff.
Worth the price.
Lots of dust, not that clean. Rooms are quite dated. Bad internet connection.
Access to village with good pubs & restaurants. Access to the New Forest and Lymington. Friendly and helpful staff Pool not used by anyone other than us.
Very tired decor. Shabby, stained and generally unpleasant. No cold water in our room - all taps running roasting hot! Only cold water in children's room. Lol! Expensive.
A comfortable spacious room convenient for the railway station and also near to shops, situated in a leafy quiet road.
Convenience of very close to Brockenhurst centre.
Felt like being on an old people's home. Hot water coming out of cold tap in bathroom. Staff were not friendly. Not a pleasant experience.
The friendliness of the staff
The somewhat faded buildings and decor
Decor dated, tired Dusty room Wifi signal non existent from room Basic budget feel but £50 pppn.
The menu & cuisine is excellent. Closeness to the Forest in a leafy village road great. Individually owned hotel a plus in the past. Has a cosy and familiar feel as we have stayed at this hotel on occasions for about 24 years.
The hot tap on the bath/shower was out of action. The waitress were either sullen and literally uncommunicative or strange. We sat down eat at 8pm on the last night and did not finish till 9.45. All the other guests had gone and we were not served properly. I was unable to sleep all night from eating too late.
The Hotel grounds were all over grown, the building needs a lot of maintaineance on the outside patio area broken slabs , the entrance from this area bad uneven ground ( trip hazard)The smell from the kitchen was all through the hotel and was very unplessent to all specially to veggies. The room ( the Bridal suite) was damp and musty, wall paper peeling of the walls around the windows and the flooring was unclean with burns on it.Overall the hotel was very badly maintained and was well lover priced as we went to a spa break with treatments for £165 and the standard was 200% better. My reccomandations for the Watersplash Hotel is down grade to a B&B and reduce you prices.
A super hotel in a quiet road in the small town of Brockenhurst. Friendly staff and super facilities make this an ideal place to stay for an overnight or long weekend break.
Needs redecorating . Tired decor
everything was excellent
we would have liked the dining room staff to be able to understand english better
old worn out carpet and dirty, dirty paintwork, only one towel for 2 of us, room not cleaned or serviced on one day, rubbish not cleared, peeling paint , dirty walls , stains on sheets, this place is a disgrace should be refurbished immediately, don't you people ever look at these places, how did it get the AA stars and a tourist board rosette, unbelievable, its faulty towers all over in and out, swimming pool had the dog in it, garden untidy need i go on!
Good hotel, good service.
Friendly staff,good location,good breakfast.
Room needed a bit of TLC little bit dated. Also paintwork needed cleaning.
