Good buffet breakfast. Broken window on top floor that wouldn't close. We had children and a dog. No discount. Toilet didn't flush. Mold around taps and tiles in the shower.

It was a lovely hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. Service was good and the food was excellent. It is in a beautiful setting and very close to the main village street and the railway station. Just a short walk and you are in the forest area with the ponies. We would thoroughly recommend it and would definitely stay again.

Lovely location, and breakfast was good, room was a good size Not very welcoming, bar staff were nice, but it felt as if you were intruding in a family house otherwise. Not much atmosphere

The old-fashioned house. The family atmosphere. The friendly staff. Location. Badly needs investment - no fridge, old bathroom, old tv, poor heating. For only a tiny amount more money, it is possible to stay in absolute luxury with indoor pool at the Balmerlawn Hotel - but they were fully booked.

Beautiful location with walks in the New Forest almost on the doorstep. Lovely twin room, with armchairs, in the old part of the hotel. Lots of storage space. Very good cooked breakfast with teh best scrambled eggs I've ever had in a hotel. The 3 course evening meal was reasonably priced and delicious. Staff all very friendly. The outdoor swimming pool is a reasonable size and heated to a perfect temperature. Liked it all.

It was very friendly, comfortable (although dated) and the swimming pool was an added bonus. Food wasnt great. Bedroom decor very tired. Bathrrom very small and needed renovating.

The hotel was close to the village centre and was a short walk from a station and a variety of pubs and restaurants. The room was shabby and tired and in need of an upgrade.
