Waterton Park Hotel  

I asked for a quiet room with a view near the pool and that is just what I got. The room was lovely, with plenty of room. The reception staff where very welcoming and asked if I needed help with my lugage, The view was straight over the lake to the hills. I had afternoon tea in Charlies bar overlooking the lake when I arrived and this was lovely start to my break, (finger sandwiches and scones with freash cream). I went for a swim in the pool which was deck level with one wall all glass. It was like swimming in the lake as you could see the birds swimming past but the water was warm. I got to my room and it started to get cooler when I phoned reception and within a minute they brought a heater and checked everything They could not have been more helpful. The meals were lovely and staff attentive but not overly so.I had a lovely break. Car parking was secure as you neecded a code to leave.

I felt the breakfast experience on my last day was not as good as the previous day. most of the tables had dirty dishes on and there was no staff. When I started to look for somewhere to sit a girl appeared. I asked if I could have a table next to a window and she said I could if I could find one. There was a family who came down and could not find a table set and had to drag 3 small tables together so they could eat together.The meal was good but the experience dampend the brilliant service we had had upto then.

Bathrrom facilities were poor, in particular the shower. The room was not cheap at £120 per night so expected better.

The staff were all very friendly, and helpful and we felt very welcome as soon as we walked through the door. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and makes you feel very relaxed ( if you like the country ! ) We had a standard room but it was very adequate and everything we needed including a queen sized bed ! Some decor was in need of a bit of attention but nothing too bad

All staff, from reception to housekeeping and restaurant were smartly dressed, friendly and polite. The room, containing a four poster bed and very large bath, was spotless and beautifully furnished. I attended on a business trip but intend to return with my family.

The only slight complaint (if I really had to find one) was the lack of space in the reception area for conference delegates. When the hotel are hosting a large conference it makes it very difficult for guests to battle their way through a sea of bodies to check out.

Loved the easy access and atmosphere of the pool area. The staff at Charlies bar could not have been more helpful of welcoming especially as I was on my own. Reception staff could not do enough and made me feel special and a valued customer.

Beautiful location,romantic setting the perfect location for my mums wedding! A whole bunch of us spent 2 fantastic days here!
