We liked the little extra's of biscuits/lollies in the room, just a nice added touch.
The smallness of the bathroom
The room was compact but very comfortable.... Karl was a very good host.... He was out to the taxi in the pouring rain to help us with our luggage .... Also recommended very good restaurant for dinner....
Location, very handy for the ferry. Staff are friendly and accomodating.
Friendly helpful proprietor Handy to town, beach Good breakfast Allowed to use dining room for takeaways
Shower was cramped and old and tired Not enough power points
Didn't like anything , one of the worst we have stayed at too much to mention
Good location for the ferry. Good value.
Accommodation dated but comfortable. Family room was very warm as on the top floor so quality of sleep was not great. On street parking only. If you want the cooked breakfast then it is only available from 8.30am which we considered to be very late. Owner was friendly but adamant on timing.
The position was good, close to the harbour and a few restaurants. The host was very friendly.
The accommodation was small, very basic furniture and the shower was minute. never mind the fact that it looks like an afterthought. The rest of the property was untidy and made us doubt the actual cleanliness of the place.
The location was excellent for catching the ferry. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast very enjoyable.
The space round the bed was extremely cramped. We only took in a one night bag so we managed but there wouldn't have been space for anything else.
Our host drove us to a place we could start our hiking, and guided us part of the way. We had a lovely 2 hour walk in the breathtaking scenery of Wales. The guesthouse was located near a lovely restaurant, and the coastline was a minute away:)
Location was close to food outlets and shops. Free WiFi, friendly staff
Facilities were a bit dated
Very nice and friendly host, getting up so early to make me a breakfast so that I could catch the first ferry. Really feeling at home. Just next door to the sea!
Steep stairs with heavy suitcases
Breakfast and having a bed all to myself.
The town. There was absolutely nothing to do there. We stayed one night so we could take the ferry to Dublin in the morning.
We had the family suite on the top floor - nice view over town and to ocean! Owner very friendly. Suggested hike along ocean and over "mountain" to light house. Gorgeous! Breakfast was good. One son plays American football (6'1", very broad, eats like a horse), was quite satisfied with breakfast. Would stay here again without question.
The only negative was the en suite toilet was tiny, but it was clean and usable. Additional space would have come from the living space.
Close to the ferry terminal and very hospitable! !
Rooms were not overly sized but a room to me is basically to sleep in and make a base. Rooms were furnished nicely, bright and certainly very clean. So handy for Ferry departures. Breakfasts were very good and plentiful.
Nothing at all
Really friendly and helpful owners, full breakfast included, good location near Beach road and the ferries.
Smallish rooms, fittings getting old
Staff & location & wifi
Bed in room 4 needs to be fired on a skip!
Welcome on arrival willingness to accommodate the dog in my room Very helpful directions re dining & walking in local area
Very reasonable price as it was £80 for family room, there were 3 adults sharing so quite cheap, friendly owner, made to feel welcome
Un comfy beds, needs updating, looking a bit thread in the rooms, cramped loo facilities Poor parking facilities
The bed was very comfortable - which is very important for travellers. There was a good supply of hot water in the shower. The breakfast on our first day was very, very good. Carl was very helpful in giving us advice on places to see and where to eat.
Wavecrest could do with a bit of an update in some areas, eg power points loose in the wall, lots of chips in paint work. The area behind the door in our ensuite looked as if the cleaner never shut the door when cleaning was done - just swept what could be seen with the door open. It is a sliding door, so when opened it covered part of the wall. The outside edges of the shower in the same area were also very dirty. Breakfast did not run very smoothly on the second day. We waited nearly 15 minutes for the cooked breakfast while the gentleman who arrived at least 10 minutes after us was served his hot breakfast after he had time to take only 2 mouthfuls of his cereal. He asked us why our had not come and his had come too soon. Well, we didn't know. When our breakfast did arrive, they forgot the toast - so another wait. I didn't have any cereal so I really wanted my cooked breakfast and I thought ordering it as soon as we arrived would mean it would come quickly like it did on the first day.
It was close to the marina, where we walked along and found a gorgeous trail and view of Holyhead! Also, the owner of Wavecrest was very nice and ready to help in any way necessary. Only there one night, so it fit our needs perfectly.
Convenient, walking distance from train & ferry terminals, & also waterfront & bars & eateries. Congenial & helpful host, but he's trying to retire & sell the place, so he might not be there long ...
'En-suite' shower very tiny, but adequate.
Good location. Friendly and informative host.
Had to walk around the shower to get wet. Room and en suite were cramped.
Friendly staff and owner, Great homecooked breakfast by owner, Cheap price. Flexible owner for checkin timings
Nothing really, but if I had to say something, just a little musty smell on entry of the house but that's being fussy!
