Score from 405 reviews Fabulous
Good modernisation of an old building. Good restaurant and reasonably good breakfasts.
Lack of lift.
Older building with log fire in reception and quirky bedrooms Conservatory (restaurant area) overlooking river Good parking Friendly staff
The hotel is ideally situated just outside of the town centre but its only a 3min walk, the facilities are excellent so much do that we have already booked for a return visit
Small but attractive room with view of river and nice bathroom too.
Lots of stairs, but then that is what you expect in an old building with character!
quietness helpful staff excellent food
4.6ft bed - would have liked 5 ft bed
Lovely room, great views of the river, very attractive "conservatory" type dining room with fairy lights.
Very difficult to find in the dark, down a narrow drive off a small back street. A muddle with our order meant we waited 40 minutes to start our evening meal.
Everything was excellent . Couldn't fault anything. Lovely location and we had great weather too for late October.
Location, Food, Parking. Comfy bed
You could hear other people moving about due to creaking floors. Television a bit small.
Quiet location. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Large room and large bathroom.
Fantastic location, will go back in spring.
Great Location, Staff excellent, Good food, Old world charm of original exposed roof beams in loft bedrooms.
If on business, could have problem linking to Wi-Fi if important.
beds too small
Accommodation, location, food and friendly staff. Will certainly book again.
Having to order food at the bar.
The setting is wonderful and the building, like most of Beccles, is architecturally beautiful.
I suspect that in the height of summer, it could be hell with the crowds. Am happy that I did my trip in September !
Setting by the river, good service, food was good.
Too hot in bedroom, took duvet out of cover, used cover as a sheet.Could only use the shower in the crouch/sitting position.
the hotel was set by the river.there was ample table and chairs outside on the terrace for sitting and dining if you so wished.the décor was clean and bright.there was a conservatory where we had breakfast.which also faced the river.the bedroom was spacious with a good sized bathroom.the staff were friendly and efficient.and a good choice for breakfast.would recommend it .
there was nothing that we didn`t like
Ideal setting next to the river. Only a short walk to the town of Beccles. Food was of very good quality and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly.
Able to cope with gluten free diet well.
Smelly sink in en suite bathroom
Room was very clean and well maintained. Food was of a very good standard. Convenient location.
The bed was far too soft and seemed to be a poor quality mattress. The room (1) was large enough to warrant a king size bed. Fruit salad and yogurt could have been provided for breakfast.
Cleanliness and comfort of room. Excellent position on riverside. Quality of food in restaurant at breakfast and dinner were of a high standard, but see what we didn't like!
Having waited for over 20 minutes for someone to come to our table for our dinner order, we were told that no-one knew we were there. This, after we were greeted by a member of staff behind the bar, and whilst various waiting staff had been to attend to other clients sitting close by, it appeared we were invisible! On going to the bar to complain, my partner was asked if we were residents - why? If we had not been, would we have been refused service?
Bike friendly. Very picturesque setting. Quiet.
Lack of WiFi in room.
Friendly and helpful staff. A great holiday spot
Wifi a bit of a problem, but more to do with the area rather than the hotel.
The location on the river with terrace overlooking it. The bedroom with four poster bed and huge bathroom. The excellent breakfast made to order instead of buffet type. The cleanliness of the hotel.
The restaurant was quite informal and expected a more upmarket dining room for evening meals.
loved all aspects of Waveney House Hotel, good location, lovely setting by the river, hotel very nicely decorated, rooms big and very clean......breakfast was delicious as was the evening meals with plenty to choose from :)
Bathrooms need a bit more thought.
