Waverley House Hotel

Situated between two underground stations and also availability of bus line made communication easy.

Our room overlooked a wall so there was no outside view

I was thrilled that when I checked in very late in the evening that they had the exact room I had asked for on my booking and Kevin, one of the concierges, even remembered me from my previous stay last April. Staying at the Waverley House is like coming home to an old friend. And I was particularly thrilled to get a single room with a lovely double bed. And I must add that this hotel is one of the most affordable in central London with air-conditioning which I actually use even in the colder months because I love cold rooms and they also can get a bit stuffy. There was also a lovely basket of goodies and a welcoming note from the manager when I first went to my room which was really wonderful.

room was very basic

Pleasant welcoming staff. Able to leave luggage prior to booking in. Breakfast very nice and plenty of choice.

The hotel room was very tired and old fashioned. However, the room was clean.

It was clean and quite. The location was good also.

Breakfast menu included two types of cheese which is great for those who are not used to English breakfast. Also, location is very central with easy acces to tubes. Finally, I am happy with the size of family room.

Shower in the room needs serious refurbishing. Also, TV could be more modern with a few more channels. Finally, the elevator is not very good but they are planning to change it so it is not a big minus.

Hotel staff was very helpful.

It was good value as the breakfast was included in the price. There was plenty of choice - continental or full English breakfast. It was very convenient for the underground - Holborn or Russell Square.

The location was excellent for London theatre and close to two tube stops

The furniture in the twin room was toolafge It was almost impossible to maneuver around the TV caabinet to get across the room from the bathroom to the closet At one point my traveling companion restorte to stepping across the beds because I was trying to get to the same side of the room at the same time

Location

We had a room at the front of the hotel on 1st floor. These rooms need better soundproofing from traffic noise.

Closeness to many places in London, I liked the bthroom, and the breakfast was good too. Good for business trips

Room quite small, The TV is right at the entrance which causes the danger of knocking it down, No lamp on or near the desk.
