Location. Friendly staff that were willing to help.
The room was hot and airco didn't work. Free wifi didn't work either. Very small room, felt like a closet.
A fantastic hotel and great value for money. Nothing could have been better!
The say was not long enough
Polite, helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Rooms were small but there was enough space for two. Tasty breakfast.
There could be more options in the menu of the restaurant. We had two rooms. The view from the other room was a brick wall...
The room, the efficiency of the staff, the food and especially the manager who was extremely helpful.
Walking distance to the West End and the British Museum, great for local transport, friendly and helpful staff
Brilliantly located, 10 minutes walk from Holborn tube and we walked to China town in 30 minutes. Excellent staff - upon check in the receptionist helping us found our room wasn't available and so she immediately found us another room if equal/ if not better standard.
Location, lobby area
Bathroom floods, no shower screen on half of shower. No bath, (looked like there used to be one). Info said tiled floor however was carpeted. No assistance in changing from twin to double bed. Only required someone clipping the two beds together.
Location. Good bar facilities.
The lengthy process of booking in & booking out. Rooms were a little cramped. Milk provided in rooms had 'gone off' both mornings. Drainage from shower blocked and therefore caused overflow in shower tray onto bathroom floor.
the room, the stuff, the location of the hotel
Just back from a great week-end at the mercure where staff, room comfort and location were excellent.highly recommend this hotel.
I took my mum to London on her 50th birthday and this hotel did not disappoint. The staff were lovely and very attentive, even upgraded our room, had a birthday card waiting in the room and a complimentary glass of prosecco to celebrate. She felt so special. We stayed for two nights and it was in perfect reach of Russell square station for the underground links. Also restaurants and pubs Within easy reach. The buffet breakfast was fantastic! Something there for everyone. I will definitely return here.
the hotel location couldnt be better ' just 1 minute walk from the tube station. there was only one bus at the hotel street , but it goes to the big ben . the room was comfortable, quiete and clean, they replaced everything every day includ mineral water in the fridge.
the matreses were too soft
Good central location. Easy access from St. Pancras Station . Comfortable walk to Theatreland, British Museum and Oxford St. Relatively spacious room and bathroom.
Head waiter ( Nico ) officious and abrupt. Did not apologise when he made a mistake. Table in restaurant was cramped. The room could be improved by having drawer space.
Location, cleanliness, room. Excellent choice.
Rate was a bit expensive but very normal for London during Christmas time.
Room was a good size as was bathroom and bed
Because there was a strong wind outside the windows all whistled loudly
Mulled wine on arrival started the whole visit well. Hotel was quiet with a comfortable bedroom and ensuite. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Location was perfect for tube from Heathrow, then getting around London and then heading for Eurostar at St Pancras.
The room was too warm !
Both the staff and breakfast were wonderful. We had a small double room and they are fairly small but still a good deal and great location.
Small room. Would get a regular double next time!
- Spacious Room - Comfortable bed
- Small Bathroom
The staff were very helpful and attentive . Was greeted and wished happy birthday and also presented with a birthday card which made it special . The room was lovely and location perfect for what we wanted . Also the breakfast was perfect and choice was great . Thank you for a great stay
Location is great location Clean New furnished Great co operative staff Lovely hotel
Nothing at all
Nice hotel, does the job if your out in london for the night, bed was comfy and with the usual coffee and tea facilities.
The tv didn't work so we called a member of staff to which he couldn't work it! Not a massive thing but it's apart of what you pay. And never got a sorry for this or discount.
location is pretty good, close to russel square. the bed was very good, and everything very clean
the room (king size) was very small, the bathroom could have been done smarter ("make-up mirror" over the toilet; water tap in the corner of the washbasin which made washings hands really complicated)
The location is great, very close to both Russel Sq and Holborn tube stations. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though not very spacious (as one might expect in central London). Staff are helpful and welcoming.
The soundproofing is virtually non-existent (as again in most British buildings), so if you happen to have noisy neighbors, you are likely to hear every word of their conversation. Same goes for the cleaning that starts early in the morning - can be an issue if you want a sleep in.
Clean room Nice location
