I quite enjoyed my stay here. It was quiet, clean and the desk clerks were polite. I selected the hotel because it was a good quality hotel in the location I needed and I expected good service. My plans changed and I asked the clerk to cancel a reservation I had in a few days' time. I confirmed the cancellation with the desk clerk when I booked out of the hotel. I was unpleasantly surprised to be charged for a night's accommodation as a no show. I was told that their policy was that their staff could not cancel on line bookings and, because I was not told by their staff to cancel the booking on line, they charged me for the no show. They refused to discuss this, claiming it is their policy even though the reservation booking only states that cancellations 'can be' changed on line, not 'must be'. Their attitude has been hostile and very unpleasant. So be warned. This hotel will hide behind their policy when they make a mistake or mislead you and you will pay the cost. Nice, easy way for them to make money on customers who live overseas and can't easily take them to court.

The clean room and excellent service of the staff. Our room was at the back of the hotel and it was quite even with a window open. We did not like the cost for breakfast and went to a cafe around the corner and paid £12 for 2 persons and the breakfast was good.

The location was excellent and the hotel inside was modern and clean. The breakfast selection was good and although I did not use the bar, the bar area looked very trendy and welcoming. The hotel staff were very pleasant and when I was checking out and suddenly had a coughing fit and lost my voice, the receptionist got me a glass of water and was concerned about me. Personal touches like that when you are a solo traveller are much appreciated.

The hotel is nicely appointed due to a recent refurbishment, although the room we had was rather small the bed was very comfortable and there was no noise from the busy street outside.the shower room was small but had everything we needed, overall we liked the hotel and it was very close to the nearest tube station(russell square),we'd stay there again.

The hotel was very close to two tube stations and a lot of London attractions. We had paid for a Queen deluxe room and yet were given x standard room which was only changed after the first night after we complained without compensation. The beds were terrible and the front desk staff were very unfriendly.

modern clean room and bathroom helpful staff free wi fi and newspaper v good location for Euston (arrival/departure), covent garden, theatre s and tube/buses. lack of opening windows, - bathroom window locked and no vent system so steamed up and will encourage mould. Main room window could only open v slightly. Didnt bother with breakfast as no option for a cheaper continental - better to go to pret a manger a few doors along.

Everyone was so helpful and friendly even drawing us small maps of the area and where to go. Gilbert your concierge was the most helpful and friendly person I have met in my many stays in London - well done and many thanks to him for his courtesy to two elderly ladies. It is my first stay at your hotel but will not be my last, many thanks.

Leaving the luggage for hotel's custody ended up with plundering it by the staff. Sameone took off my computer, tried to run it. I have already filed an official complain, thinking about the legal action against mercure.

My first two visits was not that pleasant as the room given to us was rather small and noisy. However, I continue to prefer Mercure due to the location to my class. In our recent stay, I am glad that we were given a nicer room, which is bigger and quieter. I take this as part of Mercure valuing us as return lodgers in your hotel.

Good access to tube and mainline rail. Excellent shower/bathroom Rooom faced onto busy, noisy road. Late night revellers from local nightspots were a disturbing nuisance. Rooms on opposite side of hotel were quieter.

If you want to have breakfast, make sure you ask for breakfast upgrade. This way you will pay 10 gbp instead of about 20.... a colleague of mine wasn't told by reception about this and he ended up payment almost double for 2 breakfasts..
