Friendly staff particularly helpful on bookingl
Smell of bleach in morning
Convenient location, reasonable price.
Very uncomfortable seating in bar/ breakfast room and restaurant which takes pleasure out of eating there Tired and dated decor in rooms. Poor and unreliable Wi-Fi.
I liked the theme of the hotel, it was clean and the staff very helpful and freindly. The location for the broads is exceptionally good, great access and car parking. I would definitely return in the future.
Food was expensive and the quality not up to par. I realise its a Marco Pierr white hotel but it should be in line with other restaraunts. the hotel has no lift and we wer on the opper floor and had to carry our cases up narrow corridoors. The free internet was slow and virtually non existant!
Bed was very soft
very friendly staff, beautiful location will deffo stay again x
wifi not good, a little pricey x
Very good breakfast.
Some of the communal areas were very dark.
Good quality hotel! Food in restaurant was good.
The prices in the restaurant are very expensive
The Hotel was in a pretty good location for touring round either the broads or the north norfolk coast (Cromer is about 15 miles away) The facilities and the food are particularly good. Staff on the whole were helpful and pleasant.
We didn't sleep too well because of a very uncomfortable mattress. Although my mum in law who slept in the room next door had a good mattress. Internet connection is patchy and the road outside is a little noisy.
Food and staff are lovely.
Room is very basic could do with doing up like the rest of the place.
The Hotel was newly decorated and had a nice ambiance. The rooms were large and comfortable.
The breakfast was poorly cooked and badly served. Insufficient levels of staffing. Staff obviously inexperienced.
Rooms were great. Disappointed with main meal, but Eton mess was fabulous. Nice breakfast too !
Creaking floors outside rooms !
Pleasing to the eye from outside and public interior very modern.
Bedroom very tired needs updating biggest gripe was the bed could feel springs/lumps in mattress and every move the bed squeaked & creaked and so did the one in the room above!! Restaurant food not as good as anticipated(marco).
Good proximity to the broads. Friendly, helpful staff with good new facilities in the common areas. Plenty of car parking spaces. Surprisingly good modern art work around the hotel.
The bedrooms are a little dated but clean. I understand that they are in the process of updating the rooms in line with the rest of the hotel.
Lots of space outside for use during the good weather and loads of comfortable seating etc inside.
Mattress was a bit soft and could feel springs.
The noise from the road continues all night and makes sleep impossible.
Great room, comfortable and clean. Both a bath and shower which I always like and fantastic breakfast. Great value for money for out twin bedded room.
It wasn't immediately obvious where to check-in, there wasn't a reception. Bit far from the parts of Norfolk we wanted to see but that was more my fault
Staff were friendly and attentive. Bedroom was clean and bed comfortable. Lovely location.
The new decor is dark and feels cluttered. The slatted chairs in the dining room are very uncomfortable to sit on for long (even with a cushion). The lounge area now has football games tables which when in use are noisy and don't allow for a relaxing discussion. This was our fourth stay at the Hotel and previously the food in the restaurant was vey good. This time the menu and food were very disappointing particularly my lasagne which was runny, tasteless and contained very little beef. I commented on this to the waiter but I received no feedback or apology. There does not appear to be a separate Reception area and all transactions are conducted in the bar area which gets very busy with people coming and going to the restauraunt. The Receptionist has to go through to the back of the building to obtain a printout of the invoice leaving the desk unattended. At the same time the waiting staff are constantly walking through the bar area to get to the kitchen, through the middle of guests having a quiet drink.
Clean and comfortable
Bar prices rather high Poor for guests who enjoy a country walk
Not a lot
The bedroom was tired and in need of refurbishment. The bed was possibly the worst I've ever slept in. The dining room was dark and dingy. The breakfast was greasy and tasteless
The refurbishment downstairs seemed nice..
Where do I start. . Very unfriendly. Stayed for 3 days and no one said hello.. no matter how many times we walked in and out of the bar entrance no one spoke. Bed very uncomfortable and rooms were dated and tired. . Breakfast was poor. Only one staff on and food was poor. Toast thin and often burnt. Ate out at other restaurants all week due to poor breakfast quality and ignorant staff..
Very nice location although a lot of noise from the traffic on the road which carried on until very late. Spacious bedroom, which was clean and nice areas to sit in within the Hotel. On the surface all looks OK but see comments on what we did not like.
The twin beds were simply awful springs sticking through had to lie on top of the duvet to pad it out. Did not remark until the end of the stay as I had just suffered a bereavement and felt I could not handle making a complaint. Complained on leaving and was told everywhere was being refurbished !!! not good enough. Last day one waitress at breakfast time rushed off her feet and trying to deal with people checking out, felt very worry for her and complained. Breakfast the bacon was just streaky bacon not value for money. Restaurant menu bit pricey for what the food was.
Everything bar the breakfast
The breakfast was an absolute shambles. Out of the 2 couples plus ourselves at the time we were in the breakfast room. All 3 couples had major issues with their breakfast experience. Clearly this cook/chef had had no training whatsoever in the art of cooking. Crumpets hadn't been toasted they were raw with no butter on they had just been heated possibly in microwave. The 2 poached eggs on top were so hard they bounced when I put a fork to them. The scrambled eggs were presented and looked like the driest scrapings of a pan plonked on top of toast. Completely inedible for both breakfasts. The girl apologised and brought 2 fresh breakfasts to us which were almost identical to the previous ones. She forgot to bring out cutlery and just kept apologising. We complained to the Manager who apologised and refunded some of the cost. If Marco White the owner, had arrived for breakfast and got this shambolic food he would have probably shot the chef on the spot. This was not the chef that cooked the previous night's evening meal that was lovely. This guy could not cook an egg and to send out anything looking like this is diabolical.
situation, next to the river, and near to the boatyard to collect our cruiser.Well furnished bar and, lounge dining area.A very comfortable bed.
bathroom with a small shower, cracked basin,in general it could do with a facelift.
excellent first floor bedroom
needs more investment breakfasts are understaffed and not up to standard
the whole place has been refurbished brilliantly. The food was really good with a good choice on the menu. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable, extra pleased to have 2 comfortable chairs in the room.
