Helpfulness of owners
Upon arrival hosts very welcoming, we sat in the courtyard with a cup of team and homemade cake! The rooms are lovely, very clean and beds are so comfy! The breakfasts are really yummy meaning I are way too much at breakfast. They do have dogs which I loved they were adorable. All in all it was fantastic and a brilliant location
We would have liked fresh milk in the room as the long life milk did not make for a tasty cup of tea.
The lovely room and comfy bed. The tea and cake in the courtyard on arrival. Home made bread jam and marmalade.
Great food, quality room and bed. The owners even supplied torches to use at night when going out as the street has no lights.
Phone signal very patchy
pleasant clean room. Amazing cooked breakfast with homemade bread and preserves. Wonderful location horses meandering in the lane when I arrived..
Wifi unfortunately wasn't working and the milk in the room made the tea and coffee taste odd.
Lovely house in an excellent location. Really good breakfast with locally sourced and home made food. Would definitely go back.
Great location, pleasant hosts, comfortable room and enjoyable breakfasts
Food first class ! Warm welcome beautiful surroundings ! So relaxing
The breakfast was lovely. Plenty of choice. Nice home cooked bread.
Easy access to places of interest and cycle hire in village. Walks just minutes from house.
Warm welcome, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, helpful hosts - all in all an excellent stay. Would return and recommend.
My stay was too short!
The location was brilliant, Beautifully clean and comfortable. Nice to have a guest sitting room. The breakfast was superb. I can honestly say J& J West have thought of everything. The best B& B I have stayed in!
The cottage is lovely and the Janet and John were very welcoming, food was lovely, homemade bread & preserves for breakfast. Easy walk into the village. We stayed in the room with the four poster bed and it was so comfortable. Would definately go back as Burley is one of our favourite places.
Shower wasnt very powerful
Breakfast was Fantastic Very Friendly Couple Comfy Beds
TV remote needs a new battery
Excellent breakfast - home-made bread and jam
Great breakfast and an amazingly comfortable bed.
Our shower was not very powerful, but everything else was perfect.
Being unaware there were dogs living at the property, (not a problem to me , but one of my party does not like dogs)
Closeness to the village of Burley (5min walk). Being able to select my own breakfast requirements daily Guest Lounge available in this B & B
The shower was quite unenthusiastic.
Breakfast - good, local food and well prepared. Wonderful welcome - tea and cake when we arrived and made to feel at home. Lovely big bed and spacious room.
I like dogs but they had two of their own and another two of their friends that they were looking after. They are not allowed in the guest areas but did go in the kitchen, where the breakfast is prepared and in the hall areas which left a very little doggy smell. I'm not sure everyone would be pleased with that.
The quality of the B&B was excellent, clean, tidy, with thoughtful accessories. The owners were efficient and able to have a chat, although they were full and obviously busy. The beds were very comfortable (we had the two singles as I was travelling with my daughter). There was complimentary tea making supplies in our room and bathroom smellies of many types at our disposal. On arrival we were given a tray of tea and cake to have either in the garden or the lounge which was a lovely touch. All my communications prior to our stay were instantly responded to - I was just checking our booking was OK. I would definitely stay again if in the New Forest and would highly recommend it to others.
You have to like dogs.
Very good choice of breakfast, plenty of home-made items/'locally sourced food. Central for lots of places we wanted to go. Quiet location. Nice gardens to sit in and relax. Plenty of car park space. Comfortable bed and a bath.
Charming and welcoming hosts with best behaved dogs we've ever met. Lovely house, comfy beds, fabulous breakfasts using lots of local product and picturesque village and forest on the doorstep. What's not to like.
The shower in our room. Took ages to get it just right. Needs updating to an electric one. Sorry, but it is only one negative.
The location was perfect for me as I know the forest very we'll. the village where the cottage is located is beautiful with plenty of little shops, coffee places etc. The cottage itself is just idyllic and john and Janet were perfect hosts. Breakfast was lovely with lots of home made products.
The fact that we had to leave.......
The conviviality , cleanliness , efficiency and feeling of well-being all suggests this is a first class B & B. And it is! We haven't encountered any better - you have this "I must come back again" feeling. The cottage is lovely and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. We thoroughly recommend the Wayside Cottage. In short we cannot praise this B & B enough! John & Janet (and the lovely dogs) are very amenable ; our stay was perfect!
