Pennan is a beautiful traditional fishing village, famous for being "Ferness" in the film Local Hero. It has various holiday cottages and a Bed and Breakfast. The BnB has a bar, but doesn't serve food, and isn't open long hours. By the harbour is a lovely wee coffee shack selling hot drinks and cakes, with a very friendly owner. Saw a brilliant wee photo gallery too, it's up a wee lane sign posted from the street. There is a village hall which has public toilets. It's well worth a visit.craigUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
If you like to be off the beaten track it is wonderful.
If you like to be off the beaten track it is wonderful. The accommodation is really good, location is fantastic, gravel beach 2 mins from the property, at night you can properly see the stars Not far from Fraserburgh with eating places, supermarket, fuel etc.

Really lovely feel to the place and people and just so relaxing and chilled. Nothing too much trouble - everything to make you feel at ease, welcome and settled. We could see the village below from the side window. Sea behind and fields with cows to the front. Comfortable, good shower and well-equipped kitchen. Some nice local walks; had to walk on roads to reach them, but there was little traffic. Possible to walk to wee, cozy pub in Pennan (limited opening hours).
