Staff are helpful.Rooms are comfortable and clean.Toiletries are provided.
Service is a bit slow.
Gym and sport facilities
Staff did not have very good manners, had to wait at reception whilst they were gossiping, and barman had no people skills. Very sticky menus.
The setting and sun terrace is very nice. Breakfast was very nice
Evening meal was very poor. Over cooked and tasteless. Decor throughout the hotel looked very tired and grotty. My double room was probably the smallest I've stayed in. Uncomfortable bed and a shower with a mind of its own.
A very relaxing retreat, beautiful and relaxing grounds, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and spacious rooms. Good food, quiet, you can hear the motorway... But you have to have exceptional good hearing and windows wide open.
Is a bit out in the sticks, we seen to come through single track roads but I believe the sat nav may of taken us through a strand route. But this is no thought of the hotel. The WiFi coverage is poor and the tables for eating food in the bar area are low, at knee height which have me indigestion as I had to bend right over to eat. I would of put the plate on my lap but this was impossible as they are small wooden ovals with everything crammed on. Extremely good food if a little pricey for the drinks. Also to get to the changing rooms from the pool you have to walk dropping water through the gym
Bedroom was clean & comfortable, Staff were friendly & helpful, Views over the countryside were lovely,
Too difficult to get to. Too far from bedroom to dining room
Lovely views and pleasant staff nice rooms and lots of parking. Good place to stop off on the way down to the South West. Enjoyed our short stay
The Hotel cost / decor
Enjoyed the food , pool, the views and the tranquility of it all
Trying to charge me twice for a meal on my bill.
Fantastic views and facilities, the pool is stunning but could do with better changing rooms
Very disappointed by the food, very substandard
Vey comfortable and relaxing. Food was very good, and excellent variety on the buffet breakfast.
Bit of a drive to get there, and quite pricey if you want to get a taxi for a night out
A luke warm welcome and a stink of blocked drains in the reception and bar area. The bar/terrace food was rank. A total lack of visible bar staff meant having to go hunting for somebody to order our food and drinks from. I ordered a baked potato with tuna and coleslaw and I was served a luke warm microwaved spud with what looked like cat vomit inside. Again I had to go searching for staff to complain. When I did complain the staff member did not seem bothered, but I suspect this was down to a language barrier as I suspect he was unable to string more than three English words together...so the best I got was a robotic 'sorry'...a reheated microwave potato, cat vomit and a robotic 'enjoy' from the member of staff. At this point we left the food and escaped to a lovely pub down the road...The New Inn, where the same meal was on the menu at the same price...but the welcome was warm and inviting and the food was delicious! Our room at the hotel was ok...fairly clean. The noise from the M5 was unbearable with the window open, ok with window closed but then room became stuffy. Walls very thin, kept awake by snoring man in next room.
leaving the place Friday, good view of m5
Would been better staying in travel lodge bathroom not very clean from mould to last guest hair and poo on toilet brush, did report to staff, still there that night, building and ground be let go smells in hall ways beds two singles put together internet show very nice place from a long time ago I say were not keen to give more tea/coffees etc kettle not that good anyway. Did go for walk around grounds, overgrown I think there was a pond
good free breakfast, very good price per room! friendly staff :)
to close to motorway
The staff on arrival, at 11.10pm were very helpful and prompt to deal with our arrival. The location and hotel is lovely.
Breakfast was a disaster. Food ok. We arrived at 9.10am, times adverised till 9.30am which all other hotels I've been to means you can be served till 9.30. However at 9.30 all of the buffet was being put away and the room was being tidied around us! When I mentioned to the staff that I would like some toast they said I would have to go now otherwise I wouldn't get any. I did get my toast but the overall feeling was we were being rushed out of the room.
Price, clean room with good sized bathroom. Plenty of parking spaces, free use of leisure facilities including adult only sessions at the pool.
Bit of a trek to get to the room along various corridors. If you want to use the pool you have to walk through reception from the changing rooms. We spotted the adult only sessions at the pool after we'd spent ten long minutes trying to swim around squealing children.
Car parking excellent and swimming facilities really appreciated. All staff very helpful.
The staff was so amazing, they were so helpful with our requests. Even with three weddings going on there that day, they didn't mind finding us a place to quietly practice our music for an upcoming gig that night. Free wifi with a good connection, very good (in this day an absolute necessity so well done on this one). Amazing view and a lovely terrace. Tea and Coffee in the room also had biscuits and hot chocolate, superb!
The bath could have done with a good clean. Getting there was a bit of a challenge, the satnav had us driving around for a while in Weston sur Mare before we found our way again so we got lost at first. We couldn't quite find where to park the car when we did arrive, and even inside the hotel, I wasn't quite sure where everything was. The hotel has loads of stairs and corners so you mustn't mind walking around a bit. Also the freshly cut orange at breakfast had gone off. But these are definitely minor things compared to how good it was, overall the stay was so lovely!
room not what we booked
Swimming pool and facilities were good, and staff were nice when you could find them!
First room given very small! Bed broke in half on 2nd night! They tried to mend the it by just screwing it together! Complained so upgraded us to better room, came back 3rd day to find our key had been given to another guest who had just checked in! Money was taken off our bill as compensation.
Loved the spa great pool and leisure facility's . Relaxing massage from sue Gail ... Perfect view comfy over sized bed . Quiet room .. Plenty of hot water .. Stunning grounds ... Terrace food was stunning and presented beautiful ..staff very helpful . We will stay again
Having to leave
The local - even though I was travelling alone it was lovely to sit on the terrace with a drink looking at the wonderful view and feel at peace.
The lack of intimacy in the restaurant to large - ballroom like.
We had sen this hotel many times whilst travelling on the M5 it always looked nice. We stayed there for one night and found the place ok. As a stop over fine, it is what it is.
The reception staff are first contact therefore should be welcoming. Unfortunately this wasn't the case they were miserable with a not bothered attitude. Shame as the hotel is in a lovely building.
staff very helpful
staff very helpful swimming pool, sauna, steam room, we liked very much. clean and tidy room, very relaxed atmosphere, have now stayed twice, and we will be going again.
Reason for going was views, bedrooms no view, except of a kitchen door.
