The room was very small, but absolutely tidy and clean. The location is 5 minutes from Portobello Road or Kensington Garden - super central. For less than 50 quid per night, it is excellent value for money.
Well, the breakfast is just cornflakes, toast with jam and instant coffee, I found that a bit boring.
Shower leaked. Over the shower curtain. And water didn't drain so had to shower in 60 seconds else would overflow . Beds tiny. Rock hard. Springs bad. I paid 36 for the room so was ok for me for the price. Would still stay again.
The location is excellent,Central but not too noisy or busy. The room I stayed was clean, quiet and cosy.
The shower( I don't like the fixed one), breakfast seemed poor( no proper coffee).
Can hear some noise from the room above, maybe because the floor is too thin. But its not that big deal
This was one of the better hotels I've stayed at in London. Fresh and rooms cleaned every day.
Bit of a cheap breakfast without much to vary. The lift is a bit to slow.
very little room and bathroom. The bed was impraticable
Metterei feltrini/gommini a sedie in the breakfast room!
Location was very good cleanliness of hotel spot on could not fault clean towels and bedding every day tea and coffee facilities filled daily.
Bed was basically like a camp bed also very noisy guests shouting and slamming doors through out the night
nice hotel with good staff.
poor brekfast, just bread, butter and jam with koffee ore juce.
Location, location, location. Very near both Bayswater and Queensway tube stops which gives you easy access to both Central and Circle/District lines. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff members were consistently pleasant, welcoming, and very helpful. All this at a great price!
The rooms were very clean for english standards (I am German) and they were quite comfortable. Location was close to tube and central line, very close to city center. No noisy street or anything disturbing.
The wifi connection was incredibly bad, sometimes not enough to quickly check facebook. Staff was quite unfriendly and not well informed, they could not even tell me which of the hotels 6-7 wifi connections I should use. I tried all and they were either not working or broke off every few seconds.
small room poor breakfast
The room was satisfactory and comfortable. Bathroom was small but functional. I was especially impressed with the assistance from the reception staff in terms of giving us directions and being friendly. One of the girls, Gosha, helped me contact a couple of friends in London when my phone was out of action by letting me use her mobile. That was above and beyond and I think that is worth as much if not more than the quality of the hotel! Thanks Gosha.
Was hard to find as the same number was on both sides of the street, but that's not something that the hotel is responsible for.
Location, friendliness of staff
"Continental breakfast" usually means more than toast with butter & jam, a tank of boiling water, a can of instant coffee powder and a pile of tea bags. I can live without cheese, but to go without a decent cup of coffee is another matter. The room was OK, beds were good, but underneath the shower one piece of wood was suffering from mould; as a result the whole room reeked of fungus when the window was closed for too long. We slept with an open window but I can imagine this is not an option in winter.
The location was very good, on a reasonably quiet road not far from the tube. The price was good, which might explain the mattress (see below). The room was clean, and toiletries and tea facilities were provided.
As other reviewers have stated, the mattresses are pretty terrible - they must be about 10 years past their use-by date now! You can sleep on them, but you'll probably find you'll keep rolling to the middle because of how sunken they are. I asked for an upper floor room but we got a ground floor room, and we were woken up by staff vaccuming outside very noisily at 7am. You'll probably have to turn off the heating yourself at some point because it gets extremely hot in the room and isn't timed appropriately.
Really quiet for sleeping. The street is almost without any traffic, especially during the night. Great value for money.
Very slow wi-fi during some parts of the day. The lift is very small and stairs narrow, but that's to be expected in historical buildings.
Stuff was cheerful and helpful
Our room was glassed in balcony with single glazed windows, even with heating turned to max it was pretty cold. Shower is very small and we had hot water only two days. Hotel lobby was more comfortable then our room, double bead was like 110cm barely enough for two persons. Breakfast consists only of serials with milk, and toast with marmalade, also bread teats funny. Internet is working BUT expect 10 sec lag for every click. Next time we will try some other place.
Because we had one of the renovated rooms, we had wooden flooring instead of an old carpet. Around the hotel, you can find great restaurants of all nationalities.
In our second night, water was coming down from the ceiling at 2 a.m. Until 7 a.m. nothing happened - the guy from the nightshift gave us 5 towels to put on the floor. We didn't get another room or a refund - they told us this happened already twice!!
Friendly and helpful staff
Poor choice for breakfast Bathroom is too small
staff very friendly
just don't serve breakfast, because that wasn't...
Proximity to Queensway and Bayswater tube stations Quiet location
No desk Small 2' bed No breakfast before 07:30 Unstable WiFi
Location is good. The room was clean.
Staff not that friendly, when I said why the lift has problem they said it is two star hotel. The luggage room should be close to reception not a room in basement which is difficult to reach. Breakfast area didn't have enough tables. The window in my room would not close properly. The idea of this hotel is you get what you paid.
Some of the members of staff were helpful and went out of their way to assist.
Was promised a double room but given a twin room instead. This is the second time that this has happened... Woke up the next morning and was told that I couldn't shower or use the toilet in my room... Apparently something wrong with drainage... Staff that came to my room was polite but when I checked out, the staff at reception didn't even utter a word of apology. Not happy with service.
Location and cleanliness are good.
Beds (singles despite booking a double) are small & uncomfortable. Breakfast not brill but adequate
location and the staff is perfect. clean rooms
the matresses of the rooms are so very old that the springs of the bed bites your back that makes it impossible to sleep. the so called breakfast is only butter and jam
