All things good
We were offered to pay for an upgrade- which we did, looking forward to a nice room. The walls were thin and we didn't sleep due to a loudly snoring man next door. Sorry. room 161
Great place, polite staff and very clean room. A home from home.
Nothing only that we could not stay longer.
Quiet room. Comfortable bed. Complimentary water (other higher star hotels should take note)
Low water pressure so shower not great. Stained coverlet. Net curtains a bit dirty.
I could not fault the hotel and the stable bar was a very nice touch with very friendly staff, will certainly use this hotel again when in the area.
Great parking facilities, great bar, really high standards.
The room was a little bit small.
Very Quiet room, brilliant facilities. very comfortable bed, excellent quality extras, water, biscuits, chocolate. The room was lovely and warm on a cold night. Thankyou
The food at the stables was rather bland and not very tasty. I ordered sausage and mash and there wasn't any mash! the pudding was something that could have been from a shop and heated in the microwave. I am sure it was. never eaten in there before...
The hotel room was a lovely room (in the older part of the hotel), spacious with a lovely bathroom. The reception staff were helpful even though it was very busy with several functions on.
It was rather noisy at night and also early in the morning which spoilt our stay.
Very clean and car parking good
Having to keep asking for tea bags biscuits and fresh milk. Only 1 pack of biscuits there should be a few choices. Only Yorkshire teabags would have liked another option and earl grey. A fridge would be handy in the room. Also curtains let in a lot of light!!
the bar meals were excellent value for money in the stables pub with two meals for £15 and the drinks were not over priced. Our food was lovely and hot, fresh and very tasty. The waitress, Katherine, on the Saturday night was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for her. She kept asking if we needed more drinks (there were 6 of us eating) and kept making sure we were ok. When it was time for our guests to leave the reception staff arranged a taxi for them which was appreciated. I had got there before my husband on the Friday and ate lunch in the Brasserie, it was only a sandwich but it was very tasty and the chips served with it were lovely, it wasn't too expensive either.
On the Friday night my husband and I ate in the Stables pub, the waitress was very slow, she walked by tables where people were sat with empty plates, and went to the kitchen numerous times with empty hands. In the end two or three tables of people who had eaten just placed the plates on an empty table (and she still walked by them), she was polite though so I will give her that - we couldn't work out if she was just new. (Saturdays waitress made up for it as she was excellent and we were happier as guests had joined us for a meal)
Genuinely Friendly, helpful staff
No pool, sauna, jaquzzi.
Good location, close to Headingly and Leeds centre, plenty of parking.
Compact room and rather warm (the heating is being upgraded and a note was in the room to apologise) Bedside cabinet shelves were extremely dusty
Great value for money, staff very friendly, good quality rooms.
No gym on site, although transport was provided to the nearest facilities
A good stay.
Despite wedding hotel was quiet, comfortable
I arrived very early, and despite having phoned the previous day and being told, they would try and ensure a room was available, there were no rooms. However, the receptionist was beyond helpful and for an extra £40 I was moved to a higher spec room which was lovely. Lots of space and very very clean.
The room was at the back of the hotel and consequently the noise of the bins being loaded onto the bin lorry at 05.00 was disturbing. The other thing was the room was unbearably hot with no way of controlling the heating other than turning the radiator off totally. Be warned, if you order a taxi, Reception will not let you know it has arrived. I had a 04.00 collection for the airport and relied totally on clock watching in case my alarm didn't go off!!
Loved the room, the bed was amazing, pillows were so comfy..,
No bus service to station..
Good selection of choice for breakfast
Limited choice in brasserie on the menu.noisy in breakfast room
I liked the location of the hotel. The friendly staff.
the first room we were allocated was over the pump room and there was a work going on there to resolved a problem which was a humming noise so we upgraded to a room on the second floor.unfortunately this room is over the kitchen and at around 2.30 in the morning someone turned a fan on disturbing our sleep wecomplained to the night porter and the problem was resolved.Such a shame really because the hotel is such a lovely place.
Location good for getting into leeds, Or exploring surrounding area. Bed comfortable
Poor room heating controls Rooms look a bit tired, holes in curtains and towels. Shower water pressure very low.
Friendly reception, comfortable, clean bedroom and immaculate bathroom. A perfect place to stay for a night or two.
While the rooms were well insulated there was a noisy wedding party with lots of running around, shouting and banging doors well into the early hours of the morning which kept us awake. The hotel should invest in a tommy gun.
that we were given an upgrade when we arrived to a superior room good value for money for overnight stay nice grounds and good access to bus transport
The superior bed was actually 2 single beds pushed together so a ridge in the middle, bit of a cheat shower wasn't that powerful
the stables bar with cheaper prices !!
Receptionists were friendly & helpful. Bedroom clean with fridge in room. Good breakfast selection.
Restaurant did not have our dinner booking, which had been arranged on arrival & menu wasn't befitting the 4 star rating.. Kept awake until 1 in the morning because of noise of Wedding Reception disco until gone 12:30 followed by noisy departure of guests. Compensation £10.
