Poor and damp wallsceilng in bathroom
The bar and the restaurant were both closed and the English breakfast was only just warm, very disappointed that the bar and restaurant were closed when we arrived.
Proximity to M6
Tablet on the floor , not noticed immediately , if my dog had eaten it there would have been serious problems
The whole stay at the hotel was very good, value for money and the staff very helpful. I would go back.
Access to the hotel by car was not too clear for the first time in the dark
All clean and nice.
No late night food. Closes at 9pm
3 lights not working. Only one curtain on window. Had to change rooms!!!
The room was very spacious, had a wide range of things to use, the bed was very comfortable to sleep in, was very welcoming when walking in
I didn't like the cleanliness of the bathroom, it wasn't up to the standard that I expected a bathroom in a hotel room to be
I have been staying at Charnock Richard for more years than I can remember and will continue to do so. Always a warm welcome - especially from Avril.
Some of the rooms are looking a bit tired and the baths need re-enameling but this issues would not put me off going.
Closeness to motorway/services
Staff not friendly.Firedoors constantly wedged open
I liked the fact my dogs got to sleep in the room plus they have a huge grass area that i can exercise my dogs on.ideal for an overnight stay travelling down south for dog shows
Convenience to M6
Missing light shade. Very cracked hand basin. Poor pillows. General shabbiness of the hotel.
The comfort of the bed was the best, slept very well, the staff are always warm and welcoming, and help wherever they can, I do think however they need more staff on the breakfast in the morning. We always use this place because it is handy in location and brill.
I didn't like the fact you never got a bed sheet for the extra bed in the family room, the bath in the room we stayed this time looked as tho it had not been cleaned since the last time it was used, it would be an idea if they could put in your own room temperature control instead of having the window constantly open, more staff needed for breakfast in the morning, other then that a grill stay.
The place looked understaffed, management take note, although you won't of course
Staff where friendly, easy to find, felt very at home.
If i saw the hotel before i booked i might not have picked it as it was next to the highway. Couldnt get wifi signal wasnt that great as i had to move around at times to get online.
staff was excellent!
well my exgirlfriend who i came to visit at a local university didnt want me to stay in her dorm with her after i roughed up some guy that was GROPING her at a nighclub so i had to get a hotel and this was the only one available and i had to hitchhike back to the college town the next day because i didnt want to spend 20 quid on another cab ride.
Double bed very comfortable Wifi very good Reception staff was friendly
I booked a family room but beds for 2 children were not made up. The pull out bed had no space to pull out properly very cramped Bathroom Was dirty not cleaned properly, sink and tub. Tap running all night. Damp smell in room
Out the way or busy area's
good friendly staff. everything we needed in room . breakfast excellent and brilliant value for money
only down side , we were 2adults 2 children in a family room and when all beds were out the only way to get into the childrens beds was from the bottom as there was no room at all between them and the double bed. mind you the kids thought this was great fun !
Our stay was a stop on a longer journey and met our needs for location and facilities. Breakfast was good and the staff in the restaurant helpful.
The system that should have given us free car parking failed. Our car number was put into the counter top machine by the receptionist, but when we returned from holiday, 2 letters demanding payment of a parking fine awaited us. I contacted the hotel and the helpful receptionist (Karen) emailed the parking company to ask for the demands to be cancelled. We have not yet heard the result of this.
Not a lot!
Stench of cigarettes in room Instant coffee at breakfast Lack of choice at breakfast Shabby state of bathroom
Good price, ease of booking in and out. Option of the motorway services for food within a very short walk. Very quiet considering closeness to the motorway.
Old looking building reminded me of a pontins holiday camp from way back. No lift to upper rooms could be a problem for disabled or the weak so make sure you get a ground floor room, not a problem for us.
the toilet smelled a bit like there was a problem somewhere in the sewer or tank.. com ing up..
