nothing at all l disliked everything about the hotel, would never recommend it to anyone. the minute we walked into our room, there was a strong horrible smell. The room was so filty it had grime in the bath, and the carpets looked like a kid had had a run with mud on their shoes. We complained and requested another room. Instead of being apologetic, the staff informed us that the room had been used the previous night and nobody complained. The staff also had the nerve to tell us that the radiator had been the colour it was for a while and that the marks on the sofa bed were not a problem. After insisting on a room change, we got a better but still not up to standard room. The staff occupy the front area during their breaks chatting and are quite noisy. The rooms do not have phones, so you have to walk to reception if you want anything. We stayed for two nights and nobody made our beds or even emptied our bin. The only sign that someone had been in our room were the clean towels. We decided not to bother complaining again as it makes not much of a difference. The hotel has no restaurant or bar, you have to walk across to buy food from a very expensive place. The hotel is near a motorway and therefore the area is so busy with caravans and heavy vehicles. I have stayed in days in ireland, and this one is nothing like it. Gretna green Days inn just made me decide l would never stay in one of their hotels again, not even if it was freee. Oh by the way, the sofa bed smelt so badly. Its a wonder why the hotel inspectors dont close it down. Sorry to be so rude, but this is the worst hotel ever. |

We liked the bedding and the bed - very comfortable and the quietness both from other rooms from within the hotel and from outside. We were able to have a good nights sleep each night. The reception staff as we entered the hotel (not at registration) didn't acknowledge our presence. It would have been a nice gesture to speak at least say hello and not to be ignored. The bathroom floor behind the door was dirty. |

It was very well situated for the event I was attending - easy to find and good access! The rooms were in need of upgrading and the corridors had a strange musty smell! |

Hotel was surprisingly good for a services motel. The subsidised breakfast was good value, but the rooms were excellent. |

The staff were very friendly and very helpful especially when on the returning journey the staff were helpful in accommodation even when it was 1am!. The location of the hotel is perfect for the half stop whilst travelling to England. The hotel is very quiet also. |

The hotel had tea making facilities and was well placed for obtaining take away food. It was ok but would have preferred not to be in a room which catered for the disabled as everything in the bathroom was very low. |

I liked very much the pet friendly attitude but was disappointed at lack of poop bins or a fenced exercise area this could be a real feature of this motel did not like going to the service station for breakfast I discovered the option to have continental breakfast in our room much to late |

Reception & housekeeping staff friendly & helpful. Room simple, but clean & in good condition. Didn't miss facilities eg food, as handy shop & food in service area. Directions off booking website vague & not very helpful. Toiletries in room a bit horrible. |

It was cheap accomodation for an overnight stop. The room and premise was very clean and the room was nice and warm. The bed wasn't the most comfortable bed I've slept on and the pillows were very poor. |

Set in 12 acres of landscaped grounds, Gretna Hall was built in 1710. 1 Mile from the English border, the original Manor has been extended to provide comfortable accommodation. |
Just off junction 44 of the M6 motorway, only 2 miles (3.2 km) from Carlisle's city centre and within easy reach of the Lake District, the hotel offers comfortable, great-value rooms with Freeview TV. |
A splendid 3 diamond hotel on the Solway Plain close to the lakes, hills and Carlisle. Also close to the Scottish borders, Gretna Green and the Roman wall, river and badlands. |
An independent, family-run hotel in an extended Victorian home, with many impressive original features. Close to Carlisle city centre and the M6 motorway. |
