The owners were very welcoming. The accommodation was fine, spotlessly clean. The high point was the fantastic evening meal...one of the best I have ever had, served with a choice of wines at a table bedecked with silver on white ironed linen. Just fantastic! Breakfast was just as good. I shall stay there again!

Very friendly family run hotel, never had dinner here but if it is as good as the breakfast was then it must be excellent. Clean and very comfortable room. Look forward to another longer visit.

Beautiful so clean the breakfast was delicious the furnishing were gorgeous, would like to go back again excellent service so welcoming.

Very clean and tidy with all the property in lovely condition. Nice and friendly and just what we needed for a weekend away. Owner very friendly and helpful. I would go back again and give my friends the address.

For b & b the price was a bit high. But if I was going back to Moffat I would very probably stay there as I know it is good.

THe hotel is traditionally decorated and comfortable. The room was of a good standard, although no bath was available. Breakfast was of a good standard, not a buffet style. Quiet ambience.

Hotel lacks a little in atmosphere. Very traditional set-up, wouldn't suit those looking for a more casual approach. Customer interaction and interest levels variable.

Beautifully decorated family home & caring owners.

Evening meal with other residents which may not suit everyone-we actually enjoyed their company so much so that a second cup of coffee would have been good. Mattress in room lumpy but maybe that's my Royal blood as husband found it fine!

The room was lovely as was the breakfast. Decent sized bath towels . friendly staff.

One of the reasons we chose Well View was its awards for food and when we arrived we were told they couldn"t do dinner for us that night. Rather disappointing at an establishment that calls itself a hotel and restaurant.

Well View wurde als Hotel vorgestellt, ist aber nur eine sehr gepflegte b & b Unterkunft und bietet nicht den Komfort den ein Hotel normalerweise hat. Das Angebot ist einfach falsch, ich wollte eine Hotelübernachtung und hatte etwas ganz anderes und das auch noch für zwei übernachtungen, war sehr enttäuscht von booking .com Sie sollten sch besser informieren was Sie anbieten.

Moffat is a nice area and the accommodation is set back in a Georgian mansion.

We chose this hotel as it offered fine dining, but on arrival (at 3:30pm) were told that this was not available, and were cursorily informed that there were plenty of places to dine in the village. There was no recommendation on where to go, or not to go. If you are relying on a meal on arrival, it is worthwhile checking before you book. Next day, the breakfast menu showed smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, this was also not available. So much for fine dining! A definite disappointment as we booked the place thinking that we could eat there! Our room was spotlessly clean. What surprised us, was that there was no shower in our first room, not even in the corner bath. Luckily, the place was rather empty and we were re-assigned to a room with a shower (no bath). We had a deluxe room, but personally am unclear as to what made the room de luxe. It looked fairly standard. Finding the place on the outreach of the village gave us a problem, and it took us 3 times up and down the road before we found it. The signage is inadequate and in the dark (we did it in daylight), would be very challenging to find. Breakfast is only 8-9, so inappropriate for an early start. Overall, I would say that this was at the high end of pricing considering that it was very much a B&B with communal eating around a single table for 6-8 people.

Beautiful house, very well appointed rooms with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Location very convenient for Moffatt. excellent breakfast and charming hosts. Would definitely recommend.

It was all very comfortable, excellent service and delicious food. Could not fault it.

A what a find and what value for money. Immaculately Clean, stylish decor, friendly owners, excellent breakfast, wonderful facilities in the room. So much better than staying at a motorway motel on journey north or south. Such a small detour for so much more. Will definitely stay again.

Difficult to find in the dark. A larger sign would be welcome but I am sure the owners have their reasons. Anyhow it was worth it in the end.
