We likrd the location and set out espaecially the foyer and bar area, also the resaurant area was very nice, also the staff were very pleasant Although we booked very late we didnt really like our room it was clean etc but had a view of just walls at the back and the bathroom had no window at all. Also it was quite noisy as it was quite a thoroughfare especially mornings. My only complaint was my gluten free diet. I did inform the staff on booking my reservation and also when I arrived, but it was not dealt with in the restaurant, and if I had eaten it would have been very ill. Its very important to a coeliac that there are no mistakes and the staff need to be aware we are in the minority but its still important

We had a premier room and that was nice with arm chairs and a seperate bath and shower. Good location could easily walk to Durley Chine and beach. Bar staff did not speak good English and messed up the bar bill to start with Carpet loose in dining room and my Mother in law tripped on it.Only one disabled bay in the car park by the door

The hotel was well situated with friendly staff the bar was very pleasant I think the bed clothes were washed with bio powder and I suffered a skin allergy in the night which tended to mar the stay

Location, very close to town centre and amenities. Breakfast was lovely. Breakfast on the 2nd morning was chaotic. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. None of the tables were turned down when people left. They were cleared as and when someone needed them delaying the service. I also waited 5 minutes for someone to bring me ketchup, by which time my breakfast had cooled down. I would stay again though and put this down to perhaps lack of staff on the day.

We found that although we had booked online that the hotel was just right for us as we were able to walk to town centre and use the buses (free for us )some from just outside the hotel and all we wanted was to have a break off season from home and of course the weather is most likely to be better at this time in the south we have been to Bournemouth many times and we know the area so this influenced us as well overall the visit was very good. Thank you

Ideal position, 100m from cliff top, easy access to town centre and a very comfortable hotel with lots of facilities. Our premier room was massive and extremely comfortable with all mod cons. Would definately choose this hotel again if we were staying in Bournemouth. The breakfast - at the weekend when the hotel was busy breakfast was self service, but Monday to Friday waitress service - and you could choose what you wanted from a comprehensive menu but quantity was very small, especially the fish! Quality however was very good. Would not put me off staying at the hotel again.

Very clean rooms and friendly staff, the breakfast was excellent and the location was ideal. Being woken up by the fire alarm at 3 a.m. and then again at 8 a.m. but no-one telling any of the guests what was actually going on. I think it was just an electrical fault but it would have been reassuring to be told that.

The food was well presented with a good choice for breakfast. Central location for buses and shops and beach Although our room was recently decorated it was still very old and creaky - the newer part of the hotel is much more pleasant as the lift in the old part will only just take one person with a suitcase. The swimming pool had no private changing areas and all felt musty and steamy on a wet and cold day. Dogs are allowed in certain rooms in the hotel which was not to my liking as the one next to us was allowed to bark and whine for a lot of the time unsupervised. Three fire alarms went off during our 3 night stay and all of these were unsupervised by hotel staff leaving guests to guess when to return to their rooms.

The Wessex had all facilities you could ask for, the staff were exceptionally friendly, they welcomed us and our Guide Dog puppy in training. They were interested in the work we do with the puppies. Directly across the Hotel is a pathway directly down to the beach. On the opposite side a path direct into the town, so although at first it appeard out of town it was infact within 5 - 10 minute walking distance. Our room 380 was quite large, cleaned every day. Bed was very comfortable. Fab breakfast from a choice of cold buffet, cooked or specail cooked. Again staff very effecient no waiting around, served straight away. Excellent value for money. There really was nothing not to like. Excellent value for money

I liked the location and the close proximity to the beach and walks Fantastic shower, steam room and solarium. The distance from the car park to the lifts when carrying luggage. There is a lift accessible for disabled people but this should also be made public to the other guests for their cases. The decor in room 381 could be modernised as it was very chintzy but nice bathroom apart from the leaking cold tap.
