Everything about the hotel friendly staff really clean and great food
Staff were kind and friendly. Food was ok. When I booked on booking.com this hotel was rated four star. When I arrived it stated the hotel as three star.
Sadly the bedroom was not clean. Carpet was dirty. Hairs in the bath from someone before me. Window open when I entered room. No lock and fire stairs right outside anyone could enter if they so wished. Made me feel uneasy.Kettle wouldn't switch off.
Friendly atmosphere of bustling efficiency. Great restaurant food; beautiful, spacious room and bathroom - exceptionally quiet for a city-centre hotel. Staff professional and always ready to help. Way above general 3-star standard - knocked spots off the similarly-priced place I'd just left.
Only that I just had a one-night stay!
Very comfortable room. Had a bar meal and breakfast; both excellent in presentation and content. Very friendly staff.
No room in very small car park. Had to pay in nearby public car park.
room was clean, tea and coffee was well stocked in the room, TV kept our son entertained. Bar being open 24hrs to residents was good and the restaurant staff and food was excellent. location is brilliant right in the centre of Dorchester
being greeted by reception staff with a grunt was not the best start, so maybe some more training on people skills. Parking is shocking don't bring a large car as it wont fit in the tiny car park behind the hotel not the best for unloading kit and children on a sometimes busy road so we had to park behind the hotel in the street but only cost 50p for all night
Staff were very helpful, the hotel was very clean and tidy and comfortable. I would definately use again.
Parking was a bit tight for me but saying that I do drive a 4x4 truck !
Door banging all night stopped us from sleeping
The staff were very professional and friendly, the restaurant was top quality, the lounge and bar area was very comfortable.
Our bedroom was roomy but too dark, though I noticed other rooms were nice and light. The car park is very small, but safe public parking is available close by.
The staff where more than accommodating and a real asset. Breakfast very good
Car parking was a nuisance if you couldn't get in main car park we where driving around and having to top up meter on sat morning at 8.00 am. The rooms where not the cleaness and room had a damp musty odour we changed rooms.
The bathroom was clean and had a good shower over the bath .. The breakfast was excellent as were the waiting staff at breakfast; which was included in the price ..
The beds! Dreadful mattresses... I felt like I was sleeping on a cheap cot mattress from 1970! Extremely uncomfortable! Woke up with back ache! No lift for cases .. Watched elderly couple struggle down the stairs too !
central location friendly staff plenty choices for breakfast food cooked as you like it cleanliness of room very good en suite brand new.
only complaint was the mattress on bed it should be changed.
Everything, the blonde receptionist was a little Gem and the Breakfast was outstanding.
Breakfast was fantastic and wifi was good enough for kids games. The sash window actually worked properly.
hearing noises from other rooms, walking about creaky floors, but it's an old building so it's unavoidable
The evening meal was fabulous.
Nothing not to like
the staff were very friendly and helpful and the choice and quality of breakfast was excellent
unfortunately I was in a room where the floor boards of the room above were very loud and the door to the stairwell was outside my room so whenever the person upstairs walked across the room (which they seemed to do many times during the night!) or someone opened the stairway door, it woke me up! I was also a bit cold, but my fault as I hadn't noticed the heater.
The Hotel was very good and would not be afraid to stay there again.
Meal did not represent good value. Please ask other guests not to have their mobile phone on loudspeaker in the lounge so everyone can hear both ends of a very loud conversation.
Good food great chef
We got the Thomas Hardy room, quite coincidentally, which had a lovely four poster bed. Decor is charming but uncluttered and room was spacious.
Proximity to town centre
Car park - few parking spaces and and quite difficult to access them.
Very helpful and accommodating, especially Laura.
Poor parking, whilst every endeavour is to park so you can leave at any time, other drivers block you in for a variety of different reasons. However when asked all the offending cars are moved within minutes to facilitate exit.
Stayed here a few times & no complaints. Had a decent meal off the a la carte menu.
Rooms can be hit & miss from ok to good.
The staff were most attentive and pleasant. The accommodation was comfortable. Eggs Benedict were good and my wife enjoyed her full English breakfast.
Most every thing !
The 1st floor passage leading to our room 103. Reminded me of "The crooked house " you used to find at fairgrounds. Rocked and rolled underfoot and very noisey as other guests made there way to there rooms at night ! Electric heater not working ,room very chilly at night
