The food was good in the bar and the restaurant. Everyone of the staff was friendly and helpful. This was the first time I had stayed alone in a hotel since my husband died but I needn't have worried , I was well looked after. I was in a single room on the top floor which meant a lot of stairs up and down. It was a bit claustrophobic with just a roof window.

The staff, especially Alan, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel in general and especially our room (The Thomas Hardy Room) were exceptionally clean and well decorated. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Centrally situated on the High Street with free parking at the rear is a great place to stay.

Very good value for money, considering the location in the town and the size of our room. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. Meals available in the restaurant were high quality, and showed a good range of choice. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was warm, quiet and cosy. Breakfast was available early, and menu was flexible. Would love to stay again.

Not the easiest place to park, but the room and ensuite were very well appointed and user friendly. The staff were good, polite and personable and the restaurant service and food excellent. Great value for money. Quite an interesting exercise squeezing into the carpark, but more interesting extricating the car the next morning! Can't be helped, since we realise car parking in England is a major problem anyway.

Efficient friendly staff and good food. Very limited parking at hotel, necessitating parking some distance away. Intrusive traffic noise affecting front bedroom in early morning.

False statements concerning Wi-Fi availability in 90% of the rooms and un-trained staff to explain or understand the problems. Dismissive attitude from the Manager when faced with the problem.

The staff on arrival was good led me to my room talked to me about all the facilities very helpful. The bar lady seemed to be a waitress as well so the bar was left unattended a lot. The car park is not something that can be changed but the approach to the hotel from the car park not well marked and you need to walk through the staff smoking den to get in. I would recommend but with reservations

Central to the town. Near to historical attractions. Not far from Weymouth, good beaches and the Jurastic Coast. Surrounded by many picturesque villages, amidst wonderful countryside with many prescribed walks.

Good central location. Dated, average service and nothing worse than offering free wifi and you can't get a signal. Won't stay there again.
