The location was perfect for us for an overnight stop and we received an excellent welcome. The room was very good, as was the food. We thought it was really excellent value for money and would thorough recommend it. The building is old and the floorboards in the bedroom were very creaky. That was a shame as it was perfect in all other respects.

The staff at Reception and in the Dining Room were exceptionally helpful. Despite having to cope with a large and posh Dinner for the Dorchester Round Table and 41 Club on the evening we stayed, the chef produced an excellent meal for us and the waitresses both then and at breakfast the next morning were friendly and efficient. The room was very comfortable, and I find it difficult to understand some of the critical comments which I saw on the internet when making the booking - or why you are so honest about including them! It's a pity that the main lounge is situated at the entrance from the street.

Most aspects O.K. For an older couple the prospect of climbing the narrow 48 step staircase was daunting and certainly took the edge of the stay. Miniscule parking area was hopelessly overcrowded.

The hotel was ideally situated to the venue we were visiting for the weekend, the facility of secure parking along with the friendliness of the staff only enhanced our stay. The rooms were very clean and tidy and well equipped. Our whole experience was very satisfying indeed, and we will gladly reccomend the Wessex Royale Hotel.

Not too far from shopping area and banks and overall comfort and cleanliness were good. The limited off street parking at the hotel and I wasn't impressed with the dessert that I had - I can do better. If you want to eat out of the hotel Dorchester seems to have very limited choice.

Very warm welcome and staff attentiveness good throughout our short stay. Room of a decent size with old but good shower in bathroom. A good cooked breakfast delivered so quickly I hadn't finished my prunes! Hotel location excellent for visiting the various museums and town centre shopping area. Parking, to the rear of the hotel, a little cramped but adequate.

The staff were efficient and friendly, nice clean rooms, our dinner on the Saturday night was excellent, and there is free parking, if limited. Generally very good and I hope we can stay again. Squeaking floorboards! Not enough sugar sachets/tea bags and had to ask for extra pillows. My sirloin steak on Sunday evening was very chewy and gristly, but maybe that was the fault of the steak rather than the chef. Would prefer meat and veg and eggs etc to be sourced.
