The service was excellent, staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Wifi worked right away. Apart from the noisy seagulls, it was quiet.
My room was at the very top and with outdoor temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius it was extremely hot. A thinner blanket on the bed would have been more suitable.
staff very pleasant to deal with and helpful. the meal and wine were good and good value. although no car park, the nearby parking was very easy and convenient and the cost of the ticket reimbursed.
the breakfast coffee and tea were awful. a pity because there was nothing wrong with the food.
Good vibe in hotel
No parking Big noisy group in bar
The Hotel 'set in a large old terraced town house' was ideally situated for my visit. Very small parking at the rear but a stones throw from very cheap all day public parking. Very good staff and facilities and food.
Ok, perhaps being picky and taking into consideration the age of the building but room 106 had floorboards that felt like you were walking on sand they moved that much. And the associated loud creaking made me feel very self conscious about moving around the room for fear of disturbing neighbouring rooms. Other than that was a good stay.
We had a lovely stay and the staff couldn't do enough for us and they were the happiest and friendliest we have ever had they should be a a five star hotel
Comfortable clean rooms, good breakfast finished off with a complementary newspaper.
Occasional noisy guests in the corridor.
The location - especially with a lovely safe park a minute's walk from the hotel. Local shops and supermarket in walking distance. Really helpful staff and chef who prepared personalised meals for our 1yr old. Nice size room with a cot ready made up when we arrived.
There aren't a huge number of restaurants in Dorcester, although the nearby Prezzo is very child friendly. Car parking for the hotel is very limited and when parking on the road it was on a metre and had to be changed at 8am! The hotel could do with making provisions for guests who can't fit in the carpark.
great breakfasts, helpful staff, efficient housekeeping, handy location
Location, staff very friendly
No lift - have to carry luggage up stairs
Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere
Ran out off toilet paper !
tHE ACCOMMODATION AND ITS FACILITIES and the helpful staff
The sophisticated dinner menu
Breakfast Friendly staff Clean Very limited parking lots
Close to the busy road No toothbrush or toothpaste Creaking ceiling whenever someone walks around upstairs Most staff are on contract. No knowledge of the hotel
The entire hotel staff were welcoming, very polite and helpful. The bedroom was comfortable, with extra fans due to the very hot weather. Complimentary newspapers; tea and coffee in rooms. The food was excellent, the two evening meals very tasty! Well worth the stay.
Only the tight car parking (and the seagull who chose our car to make a very large deposit!), but the hotel can't really help that.
From the management to house keeping, everyone at this hotel was friendly and helpful. Both bedroom and bathroom were in good size and clean. We would stay there again. And very good breakfast!
The staff The food
Nothing was particularly bad, just the wifi was slightly slow
The location, the friendliness of the staff, the food, the overall service levels, the old syle ambiance of the hotel as opposed to a modern identikit box, (despite some creaks in the old floorboards), the overall cleanliness of the room, especially the updated ensuite. Would definitely stay again when in the area.
The repeated answer to almost any requests of "not a problem" by all levels of staff instead of, say, "yes of course". It irritates when having to repeat an unfulfilled request a second time to another member of staff to hear "not a problem". If it has to be repeated it has become a problem for the guest!
General ambience, relaxed and friendly.
To get the four poster bed into the room which had relatively low ceilings they had had to saw a lot of leg off therefore bed base very low to the ground! Why try to put a four poster into a room with low ceilings 7n the first place? Cost of a so called suite dispropotionate to a standard room and not vfm.
The hotel was centrally located, and quite comfortable with the rooms being clean and reasonably sized. Breakfast was excellent, and very tasty.
The hotel building is old and the floorboards squeaked so much that people walking around in the rooms upstairs kept us awake until well past midnight. In addition the plumbing is very noisy and every time someone flushed a toilet it seemed to reverberate around the room.
good location, good food. value deal excellent.
We were looked after in a friendly and professional manner, nothing was too much trouble Staff attitude excellent
Great location for visiting places I. Dorset.
Helpful staff. Good location. Nice decor. Good breakfast.Very good hotel,except....
Dreadfully uncomfortable bed. One would not mind if it were just from overuse, but it was of the cheapest and lowest quality. Not really acceptable for the money paid.
