Very good,
Score from 106 reviews
“ Excellent standards for a hotel in such a remote location. Perfect place to relax after active days spent outdoors. Lounge, fireplace, bar, veranda, garden - great common areas and a welcoming staff make this so much more than just a place to sleep. Thank you for the great time. I'll be back! ”

The view from our bedroom window was lovely. There are two things which we were disappointed with. The first is that there was no lift and we were on the top floor and I have breathing difficulties. The other was that for the duration of the stay we could only get one channel on the television.

This was an exceptionally well maintained hotel with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere Toilet seat in our room ( 12 ) would not stay up of it's own accord. Not much fun for the male of the species !

The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The views from the dining room were lovely as was the ambiance in the lounge area. Great selection of whiskey's! Although the choices for main courses for dinner looked superb I was very disappointed with the actual dish in that the pork loin was overcooked making it very dry plus the rest of the dish wasn't, in my opinion, up to the standard that one would expect for the price! In my room, I had great difficulty in getting hot water from my shower also it might be a nice gesture to offer both hard and soft pillows on the bed! Overall, I felt that this hotel is over charging for what it offers!

The view from the bedroom - friendly and helpful staff It would have been nice to have scottish shortbread and mineral water included on the hospitality tray instead of plain cafe biscuits.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the location and view were excellent. The reception area and real fire was lovely and the free wi-fi an added bonus. The room was tired and in need of redecoration and there was some rubbish under the beds. The breakfast choice was also limited. We only stayed for one night but it was very expensive and we expected more for our money

Location - unbelievable sunset. Booked single room before reading some critical reviews of room size - feared the worst but in the event given a double room with nice view of harbour at single room rate - so Good for comfort and in my case value for money also. Lovely staff - intelligent and hospitable - other hotels could learn from them!!!! I thought dinner overpriced so ate elsewhere - may have been a mistake as not impressed by what I got elsewhere.Mea Culpa. Some parts of hotel a bit rundown. Cord broke on bathroom heater at first gentle pull - bit of investment required. Location so wonderful would be worth it!!

The Hotel is brilliant place to relax and look over the sea to Skye. Best to arrive by train and depart by the morning ferry to Skye - just superb! The staff are always friendly and helpful and always aim to please Please amend breakfast times shown in 'Booklet' in bedrooms - times show 7.30a.m where infact it is 8.a.m.- bit of a rush for the morning ferry! But only a small point - brilliant place

A lovely hotel with amazing views of Isle of Skye, Rhum and Eigg, the staff where friendly and helpful. Our room was small but clean and had no issues with it, the food was lovely. Ample parking at the hotel, with the railway station very close by. Only a hours drive from Fort William, lovely walks from the hotel with Arisaig and a short drive away with its beautiful white sands and clear blue water. Cant find anything negative to say about the hotel or the staff

It is in an excellent location, just five minutes walk or less from the Mallaig railway station, and only a few minutes further from the ferry terminal. Yes, it is uphill from the seafront, but it is such a short walk that this was not a problem, even for my arthritic knees. The room was easily and quickly heated by its convector heater, and the bathroom was surprisingly large for a small, single room, with both shower and full-sized bath. There was a proper writing table where the television stood. This room was small but fully adequate. I did not eat there, so I cannot comment upon the food. I was only there for some 16 hours, and there was nothing that I did not like. The window was very small, so there was no view unless you peered out right next to the glass, but for a low-priced single room one should not expect more. In fact such view as I had was a west-facing sea view, and only the extremely heavy rain prevented a partial view of Skye.
