Excellent English breakfast Modern bathroom Very affordable
Slightly lumpy mattress
Everything was up to a good standard
A warm welcome, comfortable room, excellent breakfast.
Nothing to dislike, but perhaps the décor is a little tired. Not many staff in evidence.
lack of hot water
Room was clean. Unexpectedly good accomodations. Restaurant is excellent. Dinner was very good as was breakfast.
Warm welcome Pretty village Great chips Good wine list Welsh cheeses served at room temperature Welsh Malt whiskey
Cramped bathroom Small double bed Over cooked boring vegetables reheated in the microwave Previously frozen steak defrosted too quickly
staff friendly and helpful. Lovely building. Nice bar with local real ale.
Appeared to be short staffed, particularly at breakfast / checkout time. Is Wi-fi available?
One of the most friendliest places I have stayed.... In particular the Reception staff went above & beyond to make our stay as welcoming & comfortable as possible the second we walked through the door
Personally I loved the feel & atmosphere of the Hotel, however you will need to bare in mind that this is an old country house, so don't expect "all mod cons"
only one double room on ground floor
Near to where I needed to be.
Couldn't order anything to eat on arrival. Invisible staff, small bed. It's all ok but not great.
Quiet location Large car park Good quality breakfast ingredients
Old fashioned decor in bedroom Uncomfortable mattress No magazines in public rooms Musty smell in bedrooms
breakfast location to my party venue bathroom was modern
the was an odour could do with a full make over decor and room poor standard cold shower fire alarm went off, the staff implied we must have caused it. - we didnt!
Staff really helpful, comfy lounge and quiet location which was really close to where I needed to be
My room was a good size but really in need of redecoration, it was a tad shabby which spoilt the quality of my time in the room a little.
Location to town
Being charged more than our reservation price!! Booking.com £80 - charged £90!!
THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY, FOOD WAS NICE,VERY PLEASANT WEEK END.
Beautiful old house with lovingly tended garden. Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Relaxing atmosphere - if we had had more time I would have felt very comfortable just sitting in the lovely garden all day!
We had trouble finding it! (But there was a diversion due to an accident which muddled our Satnav) Driving in the narrow country lanes takes some getting used to - but they are very picturesque!
Staff food and accomadation very good. Reasonable rates too.
Bar closing at 11.ish even for residents.
The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good.
We travelled from London, for a wedding, so we would have liked a bar snack when we arrived, but the kitchen was shut. Had we known this we could have stopped at the motorway services.
Pleasant friendly staff and clean room
No need to close bar to even residents at 12.30
Well appointed room, good shower and bathroom. Very friendly front of house staff and helpful. Would still recommend despite blip in kitchen. See over.
Breakfast was v.v. Slow. Apparently new work experience chef? So why did he not get assistance? Full house, should have had extra staff. Only blot on an otherwise good stay
Convenient for St Donats Arts Centre & Atlantic College (2 miles), clean, comfortable, welcoming & friendly, lots of parking. It's also in walking distance of Llantwit Major town centre for a few nice pubs and restaurants - plus shops and the railway station.
The "Welsh breakfast" is fine, but it could be so much better with just some quality local ingredients, and fresh fruit.
