It was exactly what we needed. Julie was very helpful going beyond duty to help us with takis, trains and timetables. Breakfast excellent, free range eggs, home made jams, home cured bacon, we loved it

Friendliness and good breakfast. It was a shame that the heating had been switched off as this made the room and especially the bathroom very cold!

My wife had booked for us to see"The Mousetrap" in Aylesbury and I booked "West Lodge". I thought possibly the reviews were over the top but they were not. Excellent is about right, the bedroom was warm and comfortable, the en-suite was very nice, the food was lovely. We would both thoroughly recommend "West Lodge" well done to Mike and Julie. A lovely weekend. Nothing

Warm, friendly welcome. Hotel was lovely and authentic. Rooms comfortable and clean. Plenty of tea/coffee making facilities. Wide variety for breakfast - as in cereal, fruit and cakes with the added cooked breakfast (although I thought one piece of bacon and one sausage not enough). On the whole would definitely stay there again as it is very close to the RAF base. Also there are a few pubs/restaurants in the quiet village so you don't have to eat at the hotel.

The hotel looked like something out of a story book. from the outside it looked small but inside was a different story. Rooms are comfortable and food is excellent. We were made to feel very welcome.

We liked the genuine welcome and the thought that had gone into the decor. One felt that they would try to meet any reasonable request. The breakfast was excellent and one never felt hurried. We could have eaten in in the evening but our host suggested we try a local gastro-pub which was very very good. Full marks for making our needs a higher priority than money making. There is very little not to like. Maybe some of the rooms lack space - but it is an old building and restricted in what is possible.

We felt very comfortable there and the hotel felt nice and cosy. The only small complaint was the one hour band for taking breakfast, it should have been over a two hour period at least.
