Score from 351 reviews Very good
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic. Facilities were very good; very comfortable; and extremely clean. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend the same to others.
Nothing not to like.
Excellent location, knowledgeable host's and very friendly. Beautiful rooms and amenities.
Unable to sleep, loud noise comming from mechanical toilets @ 15 minute intervals all night.
Fantastic period town house right in the heart of the biz, parking directly outside or across the road in the carpark
Location location location. Cleanliness: terrific. Our bedroom faces the back garden, so it was quiet. Proprietor is friendly and her son helped us with our luggage. St Andrews is a beautiful town bordering by the North Sea and the famous St Andrews golf course.
Location, friendly staff, comfortable good sized rooms, great lounge area.
Very little except breakfast not available, but the Student Union across the road is great value.
Our stay at West Park was great! Debbie was incredibly accommodating and permitted us to check in early after an overnight flight. Her advice about places to eat was very helpful and her lovely son, Joseph even gave us a lift to our sons dormitory when there were no taxis to be found.
The one drawback was that the hotel doesn't offer breakfast.
My 12 year old son and I were made to feel very welcome and given the use of the lounge to shelter from the rain whilst we waited for our train even after we had checked out. Lovely comfy rooms - great decor.
We only stayed one night, but the room was comfortable, clean and everything you could want/need. The bathroom was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. Would absolutely stay again if ever in St Andrews
Quiet, comfortable, and great location.
It was a very small room and we had to use the upstairs bathroom.
Amazing location, welcoming staff and all round perfect stay. The room was very nicely decorated with nice wee quaint touches. Will definitely be back! Thanks.
Loved the room, super comfy. Slept soundly with no disturbance, despite central location. Everything was clean and the interior decor was beautiful - cosy, warm and unique. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Perfect location! Room was restocked each morning with tea, coffee and selection of biscuits. En suite bathroom was bright, clean and spacious. Would not hesitate to recommend West Park House to others, and would happily stay again. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable stay! :)
Very minor thing, but box of facial tissues in the room would have been good. Breakfast as an option would be a great bonus. But I have no complaints.
The central location made things very straightforward, and we were able to walk around the lovely historic town from the front door. The house was decorated beautifully, and so tasteful - and it is always a huge relief to find everything extremely clean. The hostess was so friendly, welcoming and helpful with pointing out things on the town map, including where we could park the car and recommendations for eating out. We were very pleased with our stay and would like to return in the future.
It is centrally located. Our room faced the road, and despite of that it was very quite. We booked the king room and the bed was very comfortable. WiFi was strong and fast. Lovely lounge with pay tv.
The shower room was a bit small. Shower pressure was weak.
good location lovely garden lovely decoration in the room
The location is good and beds comfy
Limited wardrobe space for a longer stay. No robes for rooms that don't have ensuite.
Great friendly host
Found the room stuffy as there is a close by restaurant so had to chose between opening window and heating noise or closing window and being hot and stuffy.
Loved the guest house , decor was lovely and the owner and her son where lovely and very helpful , would defiantly recommend and return
Location was brilliant with very helpful staff. Parking just across the road. Good advice on where to eat
Very quiet even though in the middle of town
Bed a bit soft for our taste
Liked the central location in St Andrews.
Bed was rather too soft. Towels were not soft enough! Payment could not be accepted by credit card (their machine did not work); we were not given a receipt for cash payment. Electrical failure in our room/bathroom during our 2nd night (suspect wiring) - reported to the staff in the morning as we checked out.
We were greeted by the owners and given all the information we needed. Even recommended a fantastic restaurant for our evening meal. Brilliant time
Friendly, well-located, nice clean rooms
Uncomfortable bed and a slightly small shower room.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! The owner was very friendly, and incredibly accommodating; we requested early check in and were amazed at how quickly she was able to have the rooms ready for us after the previous occupants left. The shared lounge was a comfy and pleasant space to relax and wait in. The interior decoration in West Park House is beautiful and tasteful, it is neither over-modern and clinical, nor too cluttered and 'busy' - the perfect balance, in my opinion. The location is also ideal, right in the centre of St Andrews town, only 50m from Market Street (the closest thing St Andrews has to a High Street). I badly sprained my ankle (ceilidh dancing!) during my stay but the location was so central that I was able to hobble to and from the guest house without needing to hire a taxi! Despite the central location, there was no traffic noise, and though I'm a light sleeper I slept soundly. The rooms I booked were not en-suite so we had a shared bathroom, which I was a little concerned about before I arrived, but we found that the bathroom was large, clean and pleasant, it was not too busy and the bedrooms had their own wash basins anyway. I was pleased to find an ironing board/iron and a fridge freely available for guests to use at their leisure! My friends were dubious about my booking because it was 'suspiciously cheap' but we were amazed and delighted when we arrived, it was fantastic value for money! I'd happily recommend West Park House to friends and family, and would certainly stay again myself. :)
The only things I can think of are very minor and insignificant really. It would be nice to have a box of facial tissues in the bedroom, for the next time we come! :) Also, I know my room was turned around in a very short time as we requested early check in, and so there was no chance for the room to air, but as a result it was a little humid. Perhaps some of those dehumidifying pouches tucked away somewhere could absorb any excess moisture from the air. Aside from these tiny things, it was a perfect visit, thank you so much!
