food excellent, staff excellent.
hot water was a bit flakey for the shower
Did not realise Linlithgow was only 30 min from Edinbrough or 40 min from Glasglow by train. Made it easy to visit both citys without the hassel of driving. Plus there 10 pubs in Linlithgow!!
Small shower/bathroom as per normal in Europe
staff helpful and friendly and helpful.comfortable
ensuite too small Evening meal choice poor had advertised 2 courses for £10
The location was great, the staff were lovely and the food and drink was awesome. An excellent place to stay.
Nothing. It was all good.
Breakfast realny good
Room pretty basic. Wasn't cleaned on second day but maybe because it was a Sunday?
Kindeness of the staff Good rate quality price
The noice of street in front the hotel
Location to airport, rail service and things to see during final days of touring very close by. Parking was great, food preparation, wine / beer selection / offerings good value and prepared well. Excellent staff. Would begin, end and stay here again. Great part of town to be in.
Shower in Room 7. Intermittent delivery of water and temperature fluctuations. My sister-in-law in Room 2 did not have this difficulty.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly ; there was a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. We had a lovely lunch and enjoyed sampling the guest ales
For the price you can't knock it. Excellent service, really helpful and friendly staff. Rooms could do with updating but for £40 a night with an amazingly good breakfast was excellent.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is great: close to Palace, easy parking, quiet, close to airport.
Staff always friendly and welcoming Beds comfortable Food in restaurant consistently good Central location to explore linlithgow
Rooms desperately need some money spending on them. Decor very tatty. Shower in my bathroom wouldn't work. Everything just looks shoddy, needs a coat of paint and some attention to fittings many of which are barely hanging on wall. I have had several stays here and all rooms seem to be the same.
The friendly and helpful staff. The food which was excellent. Our rooms clean and comfortable. Value for money. Will come again. Many thanks.
Some early morning traffic noise and it wasn't even busy. It woke me up and I was so looking forward to having a sleep in and a late breakfast.
The bar was lovely , clean and friendly.
Rooms and halls to rooms are badly needing attention. Wouldn't rush back to stay.
VFM was excellent, staff friendly breakfast more than enough
All staff very warm and friendly. Food was exellent.Ideal location for Edinburgh and Glasgow. And Linlithgow is a very charming small town with exellent transport both rail and bus connections.
Almost everything. I have stayed at the West Port many times and always been very happy with all aspects of the hotel.
Staff amazing, nothing was too much trouble from helping carry our case to bringing a meal to our room when I wasn't well enough to go downstairs. Always a cheery smile.
Toilet was wobbly! forgot to mention it to them.
Breakfast was absolutely magnificent. A full Scottish beautifully presented and provided by great staff.
Shower was just a wee bit too compact.
Recently "done up" and well appointed with good food, comfortable room and very friendly and attentive staff. We really enjoyed our stay and time in historic Linlithgow, with the hotel only minutes from the town centre.
There were no chairs in the room, just a stool, though otherwise the room was fine. This meant sitting on the end of the bed to read or watch the TV - not comfortable. We have noted this in other hotels and guess it is meant to encourage bar/lounge attendance, but not all wish to spend all of the evening in the bar.
the staff were very friendly and helpful. the food was top class and the room was very clean and comfortable.
nothing. everything was perfect.
Staff are amazing very friendly and really make you feel welcome. Convenient location in town centre Excellent restaurant facilities Clean
Rooms very basic, could do with some TLC - loose hooks, no shelf in shower Shower room very small, only just acceptable.
Nice hotel at a good price
Noise from traffic and draughty windows
Comfy room and great location. Nice staff and atmosphere
No porridge on the menu any more :-(
Very friendly and comfortable
The bar area and food were very good, all staff friendly too.
Shower in the room only just Luke warm, was advised on first evening it would be sorted but it wasn'T. Cleanliness of room not great, had to move a bed and carpet was filthy under it. The room I had faced the main road and all the traffic noise was very loud due to old style of windows. Breakfast started at 7 but the morning staff only took over from the night porter at 7 so was often a delay if you wanted to eat early. I had arranged to be picked up at 7.30 each morning so caused a rush, one morning the staff wasn't there til 7.10 and the night porter didn't know how to start taking breakfast orders
