We liked the size of the room, the bed, the car park and Nick who gave us a warm welcome and served us at breakfast.
The air freshener.
A hassle free stay with helpful attentive staff including the owner whose out there front of house serving etc & very open to discussion suggestions etc. Dinner very good & not over priced all be the side dish (rice, noodles etc) portions are mean. Breakfast brilliant, good quality food & more than enough along with as much tea/toast etc as you could possibly want.
Side dish portions at dinner were less than generous.
The restaurant and restaurant staff were great and whilst the food selection could have been wider what I experienced was very good
My room was extremely tired with electric heating which you could not control except by turning it of and on manually. The noise from the cistern could be heard all over the hotel, the hot & cold to the sink was very slow and it took an age for it to drain away. Very disappointed
A good standard of Hotel in a central location. They were helpful and walked me to my room after showing me the breakfast area etc. Made good suggestion for restaurants even though they have a good Thai restaurant (not my cup f tea)
Just needs a little updating, but that maybe me as used to modern hotels.
Great staff, easy to find, nice room
Room was very warm on arrival, had to keep window open overnight to be comfortable.
Food excellent, staff very friendly and very good value for money!
Rooms a bit on the dull side.
Location. Close to town and family. Ground floor room ,very convenient Good breakfast , friendly waitress. Comfortable bed, and very quiet
No curtain on ground floor window left us feeling as if we could be seen from car park with light on as Venetian blind did not cover the entire window. Other windows in this annexe had curtains. Step up into shower was slippery when getting out of shower , and the lack of ventilation in shower room as caused mould on ceiling and grouting. Expelair was not working.
This was my 1st visit to the hotel, It was in a good location for my visit to the Bodmin & Wenford Rly. I would stay at the hotel again
Warm welcome on arrival, personal tour of the hotel and shown to our room, good food, good staff all made the stay worthwhilenothing
Easy walking distance to Bodmin town centre
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and facilities were comfortable and the towels thick and fluffy. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked and was a mixture of self serve and hot, cooked to order. It was served promptly.
We liked everything about the hotel, although some rooms overlooked the car park which could me some disturbance with noise and lights.
Good central location in Bodmin with free parking. We had an excellent breakfast and were impressed with the view from the restaurant over the well maintained garden.
Food good, rooms cosy.
We stayed for one night in early September 2014. We had a double room which was comfortable and of a good size with an en suite all of which was clean and functioning. The breakfast was excellent, we both had scrambled egg which was particularly good. The service at breakfast was very efficient, we were never waiting for anything to arrive. The waitress was very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Overall, this hotel is very good value for money.
Very welcoming with an excellent menu. Food was plentiful, varied and so tasty. Good facilities, easy access and friendly staff.
I suspect that the extension was built to modern day 'domestic' standards. Consequently we could hear people coming in and moving around. Heavier gauge materials would have helped.
Rooms were light and clean, towels changed regularly and plenty of milk for in room tea etc. The owner could not have been more helpful when we had to leave early due to not feeling well. Refunded the last two days cash, no problem. Aways the sign of a good establishment.
Noise from the kitchen under our room and much noise from the car park which our room faced onto. Could not leave window open due to car fumes coming in.
Friendly, helpful & attentive staff; superb dining experience (both evening dinner & breakfast); excellent room. Could not have wished for more.
Breakfast great choice available. Very pleasant, helpful waitress managing on her own every morning.
Bar closed before 10.00. No staff about then.
Location perfect for access to Bodmin and the Camel Trail cycle route.
Ideal central location, good budget hotel, very clean and comfortable, breakfast okay, staff very pleasant. Shower was one of the best ever, linen and towels excellent, better than some 4 star's we've stayed in.
We had been to a funeral &wanted a snack, kitchen closed at 8pm, only crisps or nuts on offer, also on arrival had to carry own bag up, gentleman showing us to room didn't even offer although he was very nice.
Delicious food at breakfast time and also in the restaurant in the evenings. Attentive, efficient service from the staff. Selection of newspapers in the bar which were available to read at breakfast time. Pleasant garden with seating for guests to use in fine weather. Floral arrangements in the reception area and restaurant were a nice touch.. Towels and sheets in the bedroom were changed frequently and hot water was available at all times. We occupied a ground floor room as requested.
Our twin bedded room was rather small and dated. There was some noise from outside and from adjacent rooms and also the bathroom fan which was associated with the light was extremely loud which I found irritating.
Good location. excellent breakfast. good sized comfortable room. free wifi. freindly helpful staff.
Poor noise insulation in annex, could hear conversation and snoring from room below.
it was all good and the staff were very friendly
