Score from 50 reviews Superb
We had a lovely welcome very one friendly help sincere.
Wow factor, coffee
Everything. Upgraded on arrival to a sea facing room which was a wonderful surprise. Breakfast excellent.
The room was very clean, the views were great and the breakfast was excellent.
Couple next door were very noisy when chatting in corridor late at night. But that wasn't the hotels fault. Just inconsiderate of them.
The room was superb, very well furnished and ample storage space. The bed was very comfortable and gave the feeling of being in a quality establishment. Food was also very good.
We liked everything about this hotel. It was a pleasure to stay, staff and food were both excellent. Will be returning for another visit
Nothing to dislike
Comfortable, clean, bright hotel. Rooms excellent value for money; towels, bedding and complimentary could not fault. Breakfast well prepared. Reception low key and welcoming. Staff polite and friendly.
Location great, Value for money Free room upgrade. Immaculate Friendly welcome
No wi fi in room which is not acceptable these days for modern travel
The newly renovated rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable. We felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel. The dinner staff were also very friendly.
The decor in the restaurant and bar area didn't match the rooms and seemed a bit dated. It might have just been the time of year, but once you enter the common areas, it felt like you were stepping back in time and we were by far the youngest people there. A refresh of the common areas would go a long way to match the quality of the rooms.
Comfortable bed and room Lovely room, both newly and very tastefully decorated Good location Parking Staff helpful and friendly - mostly
Breakfast very average Main hotel and restaurant very dated and lacked atmosphere; shame the main hotel isn't up to the same spec as the courtyard rooms Christmas decorations pitiful
Our sea view room was very pleasant and with a good view. The hotel is well located overlooking the town and sea. Very good breakfast and service. Very comfortable hotel overall.
Heating on too high, room service knocking on door first thing (and then not replenishing coffee, loo rolls, etc), wifi only in public areas. Overall rather dated for the price.
Location excellent - easy walk to coastal path and beach
Restaurant service poor and food satisfactory only. Room rather tired with no wi fi access.
would have liked wi-fi in the bedroom
Excellent location and views from the public rooms and gardens. Close to the beach and a stroll into Sidmouth.
Parts of the hotel are old and tired and the quality of the breakfast was very poor. Bookings.com had not advised us that there were Christmas parties taking place at the hotel on the two nights we stayed which were noisy and disruptive. Bookings.com accepted our American Express card to secure the booking, but the hotel does not accept this credit card. We understand that the hotel will upgraded by its new owners Harbour Hotels.
Lovely comfortable room in the new wing of the Hotel
Bath could do with handles on the sides to help you get out if you have difficulty with mobility.
We were given a free upgrade without asking to a sea-view room. The staff were courteous and attentive. The breakfast was beautifully presented. We will definitely stay there again.
price of the sandwiches
Nearly everything. Good location, attentive staff, good food, etc. What a hotel should be.
The bathroom in our room in the new rooms extension suffered from some poor design features. A not unusual example of form being more important than function.
the bed fixtures and fittings breakfast
Room was new, large, clean, expensive décor with decanter of Sherry and Gin, excellent receptionist and perfect location to walk down to the front. Bargain
All V Good.
Comfort of lounge. Views.Position. Very comfortable bed and duvet cover. Excellent staff. Homely feel. Good breakfast. Afternoon tea. Will return.
Both menus not quite to our taste, but they did look very good.
Very enjoyable stay would recommend staying here to anyone wanting to stay within sidmouth, very friendly & relaxed atmosphere. Brilliant :)
Nothing really only little moan is I personally found our room too hot.
A comfortable friendly Hotel , well located with nice food and, overall, good value.
We were on half board and were surprised on the first night to be offered 6.15 or 8.30 as the only times remaining for Dinner.
Lack of sea view, or any view Situation of room outside the Hotel involved walking in the rain to the dining room.
Nice location, high up with views over Sidmouth and the beach
