The distance from wedding venue
The atmosphere as soon as we walked through the door was so friendly and homely. Both Carol + Chris were extremely attentive to our needs without being over the top - totally genuine. The whole of our stay was excellent and we WILL be going back! The location of the B + B is only a 15/20 minute walk into Richmond - so we hardly had to use the car. The facilities are excellent and the breakfast is to die for! Would totally recommend it! :)
Ian & Helen were perfect hosts. They were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The bedroom was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfasts were superb - plenty of choice, used many locally sourced products and was cooked perfectly ! Thank you !!
The only negative would be that the bedroom was quite small but other than that everything was fine.
Very friendly owners and a wonderful welcome. The cake and cheese with the coffee was unexpected and welcome
They have sold the guest house.
over the top breakfast
for the cost the bedroom was small and not the room booked
Excellent, quiet but convenient location. Couldn't have been more welcoming. Lovely breakfasts & packed lunches. Secure parking, great for bicycles too. House full of character, well looked after. Such friendly, personal attention. We were there for the Tour of France Grand Depart, and Ian and Helen provided scrumptious packed lunches and insisted on not charging us, as it was a "special weekend" - what a lovely touch!
Hard to fault really. Maybe the shower could have been a bit more powerful, and sometimes we had to go to the (very lovely) communal room to pick up WiFi. But that's just being picky!
Lovely B&B. TLC'd throughout. Helen and Ian were incredibly accommodating, friendly and helpful. When we checked in Helen asked us what our plans were to see the area. When we came back downstairs after settling in, she had directions printed out for 3 different options of possible itineraries and things to see. She and Ian are enthusiastic about the area, and they very much want their guests to enjoy their time there. The room was lovely, with all the amenities you could need. The breakfast was amazing, including vegetarian sausage for my husband, who is vegetarian. A great value for the money! We highly recommend staying here.
There was nothing we did not like.
Lack of mobile phone signal
Ian and Helen were so welcoming and friendly, we've rarely had a better reception on arrival...tea was offered and little chocolate biscuits on the hospitality tray made for a welcome treat. Breakfast was FAB! all tastes catered for. Helen also was very knowledgeable about the area and happy to print off walking maps for us.A very relaxing stay...thank you both..wishing you lovely folks all the best..
wi-fi a bit hit and miss...not an issue for us really..maybe just a minor irritant but no more than that..you could get reception in the front room anyway which is stated on arrival...Ian is trying to address this best he can...but it isnt a hotel...wifi is hit and miss..but so what? you can get it at any cafe/pub these days...sit back and enjoy the silence!
PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING
ROOM SLIGHTLY ON THE SMALL SIZE
Excellent breakfast. Very good service including road directions given for local beauty spot and dining. Arrival treat of tea and Yorkshire cake/cheese.
En suite on the small side. Fine for us but would be tight for large people.
Everything food perfect
Stylish Georgian house. Quiet location with parking, yet close to town centre, less than 10 minute walk. Very welcoming hosts. We were made tea with fruit cake and Wensleydale cheese. Very good breakfast. Overall a cut above your average guest house. Would certainly go there again.
Warm welcome, comfortable room, excellent breakfast
Friendly service, great food, quiet and super homemade cake.
Helen and Ian were wonderful hosts.best breakfasts ever, the rooms were spotless.Helen and Ian were genuinely interested in all there quests and we wish them all the very best for the future
Location, allowed us to walk into Richmond to have meals and drinks.
Ian and Helen really made our short stay at the Westend Guesthouse a fabulous experience. They are an incredibly warm and friendly couple, nothing is too much trouble. We would highly recommend this Guesthouse as a place to stay when visiting Richmond and the surrounding areas.
Quiet location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Excellent cooked breakfast. Good car parking.
Wifi reception in room poor due to thick Walls.
Helen and Ian were exceptionally welcoming, and the info they provided for walks and trips made our stay the best it could be.
Can't think of anything.
Ian and Helen were lovely hosts. They had lots of local knowledge and told us history of the house, advised on walks, places to visit and eat. A very enjoyable stay.
Lovely and homely - really clean and comfy. Proprieters were fantastic and eager to make us as comfortable as possible. Really enjoyed the cheese and cake welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and they really go out of their way to make the stay as welcoming and comfortable as they can. Amazing breakfast 0 creamy possidge was the best I have ever had in my life and with the full mashings breakfast - I didn't need to eat for the rest of the day! Would definitely stay there again if needed to stay in Richmond area. One of the nicest hotels/B&B's I have ever stayed in and have never felt so welcomed and the owners are outstanding in being eager to make the stay as comfy and pleasant as they can. Worth every penny.
Late check in and early check out (feeling a tad worse for wear) was one of the earliest check outs i have had! We do appreciate that there has to be a turn around so that rooms can be cleaned etc, but it was earlier than I am used to on a Sunday morning! Not a criticism, but will suit early birds perfectly :)
We we made very welcome and there was excellent attention to detail.
Loved this period house full of warmth and character ! Enjoyed the welcome pot of tea in the front room with fruit cake and cheese! Sat I front of the fire and warmed up before our short stroll out for eve meal!
