We found the staff very pleasant and helpful, with the exception of one lady on evening shift[she may have been having a bad day]. We only stayed the one night so our impression of the facilities would not be an honest one, I must say the decor was nice and clean, and from what we saw, overhaul it was a pleasant place to stay and we will definitely return. The only moan I would have is the bed, two sections joined together and at the point of connection it peaks leaving a rather uncomfortable ridge. This would not help with any nocturnal activity that may be taking place, but on our night in question the wife had a headache. Ps. Rm 105

The staff were nice We paid for a king double and we got 2 single beds pushed together that were really hard an uncomfortable & rock hard pillows that made us wake up with banging headaches, whole hotel seriously needs updated & the couple of other hotels we stayed in in Nottingham the nights before were the same price but 100times better, never complained about a hotel before, but really disappointed and will choose the other hotels over this one the next time we go... Even having a double bed instead of 2 singles pushed together would've made it alot better

Although the staff and hotel room were excellent, whatever you do don't have the food! it was truly awful and I ended up sending back the evening meal and not eating, I didn't even bother going in for breakfast so can not comment on it!

Two of the three desk attendants were extremely knowledgeable and courteous. The third (may have been filling in) was courteous but not knowledgeable. There was mold growing in the shower, which upset my wife quite a bit.

We booked the Executive king room as a special treat for my birthday. We checked into the hotel and were given directions to our room, upon arriving in our room we realised we had been downgraded to a standard room. My partner went back to the reception to find out if there was a mistake and was told the heating had broken in the room we had booked but we could sleep there if we weren't happy with the standard room? We also had to ask for them to drop the room price as they were still going to charge us for the executive king room. We also had an 11month old baby with us and the put us in a room that could only be accessed via stairs.

I liked the room. The bed was very comfortable and the back of the Hotel was very quiet. The location of the Hotel was perfect for the City. I was very disappointed about the lack of a Safe Deposit Box in the room. I made this fact known to the Manager. My second criticism which is even more important was that the quality of the food deteriorated at the hotel from my previous stay last year. The food at breakfast was very basic and the tea was lukewarm and dreadful. My son and I had bar food one evening and it turned out to be a disaster. After a long wait we were presented with Lasagne and Chips and a Chicken Sandwich. The few Chips were greasy and soggy and the Lasagne was stuck to the plate. The bread in the Sandwich was not fresh. We complained about the Chips and the staff replaced them with a nice fresh portion. Rather than complain again I ate the sandwich but didn't enjoy it. As a result we didn't eat in the Hotel again for the rest of our stay.

Not a great deal I'm afraid Staff attitude was poor on reception and in the bar. Got there at 9.02 pm exactly, having driven 4 hours. Was told the restaurant closed at 9!!! Asked where else I could eat as they wouldn't even do a sandwich and I was told "there's a few places around"... Bar staff would only serve once they'd stopped chatting to their regulars... Not good!

Pleasant and friendly staff. Large rooms. Big beds. Inadequate storage space. Silly little narrow shelf in bathroom entirely inadequate to put 2 people's toiletries on. Chest of drawers filled with surplus hotel bedding. Especially disliked the incontinence proof covering on the mattress - like sleeping on noisy plastic. Has anyone in management ever actually tried sleeping in one of these rooms as though they were guests? Shame, because it could all be quite easily remedied.

The large super king bed was comfortable. We didn't get the room we booked on line. Very upsetting. All the staff said was there are no rooms left and to complete the questionnaire. The booking site needs to make it clearer that there is only one room to book with certain facilities, like rolltop bath, and you won't always get what you book and pay for.

Spending the night in what was tantamount to a ballroom by using our BestWestern upgrade card. The astonishing difference between the attitude of staff members - from complete indifference to sublime attention.

Fairly basic no thrills accommodation that was well situated for a function we were attending. Initially room facing the main road was noisy - as the weather was warm we couldn't stay there with the window open, which unfortunately would have been a necessity as there was no air conditioning. We were moved to an available smaller room, which was much quieter as long as the bathroom light wasn't on at which point the extractor fan ran with a sound like a tractor. The shower also had poor pressure.

Good access to Nottingham. Comfortable bed Reasonable price, with breakfast included Good choice at breakfast Free convenient parking Shower head needed a clean out - there was only a dribble of water coming out of it. Room a little small, but perfectly adequate for one person. It might have been a bit of a squeeze for two though

“The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The shower was great - really powerful. We had a lovely view as we were on the 11th floor. The staff were really friendly and allowed us to have our room until 3pm, at no extra cost, so that I could shower after running the 1/2 marathon. Breakfast was good.” Cynthia, St Albans |
