Westminster Hotel

Having been sympathetically refurbished to bring it back to its former glory, this historic property, long regarded as Rhyl’s premier seafront hotel, is centrally located on the promenade.

Now a friendly, family owned and run hotel, the Westminster is within easy reach of all the town’s main seaside attractions, including the Pavillion Theatre, Sun Centre, Children’s Village, Sky Tower and the new seafront park and paddling pool. Opposite the seafront arena and Seaquarium, the hotel is also immediately next door to the shopping centre.

In the evenings, after a long day of fun seaside activities, you can relax in the comfortable resident’s lounge, open until 02:00. Or, when the weather is nice, you can sit on the patio.

A full cooked Welsh breakfast is served from 08:00 until 09:00 (until 09:30 at weekends). Earlier breakfasts may be available - please ask. Discounts are available when booking breakfast for at least 3 nights.

Evening meals are usually available, but not guaranteed when there is little demand. A 3-course home-cooked dinner, using local ingredients, is available between 18:30 and 19.30 (19:00 amd 20:00 at weekends).

All meals are served direct to your table (no self-service buffets). Reduced rates are charged for children (chidlren under 3 years eat free).

A fully licenced bar is open daily from 10:00 until 02:00. During the main season, live singers and cabaret artists feature several times per week.

Room information

All of the rooms are comfortable and well equipped, with all the facilities you need in a restful, relaxing base.

Rooms with walk-in showers and grab rails are available on request. Rooms near the lift, adjacent rooms and smoking rooms are also available on request. All rooms, including single rooms, have enough space to accommodate cots, and all of the family rooms for 4 people can also accommodate an extra bed, in addition to the beds that are included in the room as standard.

Rooms with sea views are subject to availability and are allocated in order of booking, on a first come, first served basis. Reservations for longer stays and repeat guests are allocated rooms with sea views whenever possible.

Reservations for stays of 5 nights or more automatically qualify for free upgrades to larger rooms, rooms with sea views or premier rooms wherever possible. Upgrades are subject to availability.

Area information

Rhyl is a great base for those wishing to tour North Wales, Cheshire & Liverpool. Prestatyn is just 5 minutes’ drive away, Colwyn Bay is just 15 minutes’ drive away and Liverpool is just an hour away by car.

Rhyl itself is an attractive seaside resort with plenty to see and do in the town. The area surrounding the hotel is very flat and disabled friendly.

Travel information

Rhyl is easily accessible by road or rail.

By Train:
All mainline trains stop at Rhyl and the town’s railway station is just 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

By Coach:
Rhyl’s main North Wales National Express drop off and collection point is immediately opposite the hotel.

Payment is due on arrival, by credit/debit card or cash. Any arrivals after 20:00 will automatically have their credit card billed for the 1st night. If this is not possible, the hotel may not hold the room.

Cancellations:
The cancellation policy shown is based on an arrival time of 12:00 (noon).

Parking:
The hotel has a very small car park, and reservations are not possible. A pay-and-display car park is immediately behind The Westminster, and has free overnight parking at weekends. Free street parking is nearby, and free public car parks operate from October to March.
