Umi  

The hotel is situated close to the centre of London. Great transportation (especially with the buss), interesting local market and I consider it good value for its money. The personel was very kind, helpful and eager to fix a small problem that appeared, with the door lock. Will definitely stay there again.

I stayed in a 2 persons room so it was quite comfortable for one person. Don't know how a 1 person room is. It would be nice if the sink was in the bathroom and not in the room, but it wasn't tragic.

Location perfect. Very helpful staff.

Room in serious need of refurbishment. En suite tiny especially as it was a quad room. Shower didnt work properly. Curtains falling down.

Great location and very good value for money... Great if you just need a place to stay in central London...

Having stayed at other similar priced hotels in the vacinity, I would say that Umi accommodation is generally better, the rooms generally a reasonable size and they provide good upgrade to superior if available. Its very much a 3 star hotel, the staff are generally well trained helpful and if it matters - really quite attractive (well I am a guy)

Prices go up considerably as availability goes down - in some ways I cant blame them as they are trying to maximise profit based on demand - but this is quite awkward when you book from week to week as I do.

Great location, nice view from the window :) Single rooms are small but enough for a night stay.

Location Quiet

Very old hotel. Very poor and ungly rooms. Beside that it was clean the carbet and room decoration looks dirty.

Good clean accomodation well placed for u/ground and buses,good food and very pleasant staff.

Very nice staff, really comfortable room with a nice view of the square in front of the hotel; decent in-room amenities like coffee, tea, electric kettle.

Occasional noise from the square, where people congregate (I think largely from the hotel) in the middle of the night. Woke me up a couple times.

Bunkbedroom with bathroom. Sometimes you just need a place to crash, but to have our own bath is still important. We were very happy with what we got for the money:) And that we could stay in our room for an extra hour for free was also very good. Small things to appreciate!:)

the staff is helpful and very very polite and friendly!!!!! we would certainly come back!!!!

Very disapointed this stay. Booked an exec double. It was one of the poorest rooms I have stayed at at umi.i have stayed before but as an execroom I am afraid it was not up to scratch. Staff were fine and room was clean, but umi need totake a reality check as to what is expected in an exec room. Supposed extras like bathrobes and papers were forgotten on both nights, didnt bother to ask 2nd night, had to ask for them on first night. It was not overlly expensive, but have cancelled several other bookings planned in next few weeks as I dont want to risk such a disapointing stay. Bathroom in need of refurbishment,grouting grubby and worn, fittings old and dated.even toilet roll holder is damaged and falls off atslightest touch. Window poor fitting, rattles all the time and on the freezing cold night I was there, it was freezing. Had to keep radiator on full blast to stay warm.no heating in bathroom. Other problem with uni is many guests are backpacking or budget, Kept awake till about 1.30am both nights with other guests banging along corridors and shouting and talking loudly. As it is a house conversion rather than a purpose built hotel noise is a problem,but was particularly bad this stay. I have stayed several times before, but have decided to give umi a miss for a while to see if things improve, but I am not holding my breath. Perhaps they should spend less time tweeting and more time investing?? Directors please note. as for would I reccomend?not at the momentUMI needs investment as it is starting to slip backto the poor standards it used to have in the days of the westminster hotel( thats what it used to be called)
