The hotel was lovely and the staff provided excellent service, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel had a good choice for breakfast which suits everyone.

The food was quite expensive which meant we had to travel a distance to eat somewhere else.

We had a free room up grade. The view from our room was superb with a view over the moors.

The chairs in the bar were far to low for comfort whilst eating a meal. Also the tables in the restaurant were very small.

Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, quiet location.

The food in the lounge area wasn't very nice, and not a big enough choice!! Even though they had a restaurant you could only eat in there if you booked a table!!

    Excellent food, friendly and comfortable

They seem to have stopped leaving ball-point pens in the rooms for customers.

This is ideally located for an overnight stop en route from England to Scotland, by the side of the motorway just south of the border. Direct access from the motorway yet quiet, plenty of free parking. Top up with petrol, snacks etc. Good restaurant but a handy back exit into the Lake District if you want to nip out and find a local pub!

Hotel contacted me after I made booking and asked if we'd like a cot set up in room. Room is plenty big enough for a travel cot. Nice wee table for dinner and breakfast in the room with a lovely view across the moor. Staff were excellent, very polite and friendly. Will make this our regular stop when heading south with the baby.

Didn't notice if there was a lift to the first floor bedroom where we were but the stairs weren't bad anyway.
