Westmorland Hotel  

I liked everything. The staff were helpful and friendly, particularly the restaurant and bar staff. Our room was lovely, very comfortable and spotless. The hotel atmosphere is very comfortable, relaxed and with lovely sofas and decoration in the bar/lounge and dining room. The food was excellent in quality and very good value, both evening meal and breakfast. I was delighted that this is a family run business specialising in local Cumbrian produce. I could not fault it, would happily stay again, and would recommend it without hesitation. It knocks spots off any of the chain "hotels" along the motorway network.

Myself and wife have stayed in the westmorland on many occasions,you tend to relax on arrival with the views and relaxing atmosphere.The rooms are excellent clean and tidy. Bar meals are excellent could do with more choice on menu.Really enjoyed stay hope to be back again.

I like its location. It is particularly useful for those travelling the length o fthe country on the M6

I didn't really like the breakfast. Not everything advertised on the menu was actually available. Also. in the evening, the dining room was rather cool if not actually cold.

The resturant was of a high standard. The views were excellent.

The housekeeping was not of the best quality.

Very relaxed, We live Noreth of Edinburgh & have family in Warwickshire so it is half way betwen both therefore very useful for a stip off and walk if necessary.

Ideal position for a break en route from Wales to Scotland. Excellent facilities and staff with superb restaurant. Prices on line compare well against alternative accommodation in the area.

Great improvement upon last experience in terms of cleanliness and decor. HOW CLEAN,COMFORTABLE AND WELCOMING THE ROOM WAS, HIGH STANDARD OF HOSPITALITY TRAY AND SUNDRIES. Nice to know the hotel is still family owned and supporting of local crafts and produce and of encouraging the local environmental projects. The ambience in the bar area was extremely relaxing after a long drive, good service throughout.

The hotel is friendly and very quiet, you can take dogs.

The food seemed rather expensive but it was good an all inclusive price might be a good idea so you wouldn't be so shocked at the prices. The food was small portions.

We stayed in room 28 with a king sized bed plus 2 bunk beds hidden away behind cupboard doors - room very comfortable with a pleasant bathroom and good shower - reception was very effecient and helpful - so the physical accomodation and most of the service was good - but unfortunately the story doesn't end here .......

The hotel was let down by its food - not cheap and verging on over- priced for what it is - disappointing given the emphasis on the quality of locally produced food - I had pie and chips and had to search for the meat - the pie crust was over-cooked and there were no vegetables - all for nearly £13 - it got worse at breakfast - we go there early - ordered a cooked breakfast with poached eggs which weren't cooked and as result other food was swimming in water - sent them back - I got new eggs but my wife was served with her original eggs with cold food - not the best way to start your day - as we were now pressed for time we decided to move onto the toast - that had been replenished but had only just seen the grill - we made reception aware of these problems on departure and rewarded with a lack of interest - we won't return

We have stayed here several times and are never disappointed. The meal in the restaurant was outstanding, and breakfast very good too. The room was warn and comfortable-great bed!

Bar prices are astronomical!

Its a very pleasant place to spend a night. Beds comfortable and in a great location.

The situation of the hotel was just right for our purpose

Although the bedroom was warm, all public areas were cold
