I got full value for the amount I paid and the location was excellent for school as well as shopping.
The hall does not have its own wifi access however I was directed to that of Pendulum Hotel but connection was weak.
I got what I expected at Weston Hall. It was a no frills dorm room at a budget price. For a solo traveler, it is a good way to stay in Manchester rather cheaply while being in walking proximity to sights, transit, etc. I appreciated the ensuite bathroom and the electric kettle for coffee or tea.
On my reservation confirmation it wasn't clear where to check in, so there was some time lost walking around. Minor. (Check in is at the Pendulum Hotel.) Visitors should know that there isn't wifi in the rooms. However, free wifi is available in the lobby and bar areas of the adjacent Pendulum Hotel. I was on holiday so had only minimal needs for internet use. The lobby and bar were comfortable and had enough seating during my stay. If you want to hole up in your room to deal with extensive internet activities (e.g., work), it may not be a good fit.
- clean - quite cheap - close to center
- no wifi in the room - small room - somtimes noisy when opened window
Value for money, very helpful staff, Basic rooms but well worth the cost. I will stay here again next year for Pride. Location is fantastic. Thanks to all the staff for making me feel welcome.
I don`t know what to say,it was all good and I was happy with most of it.Just one thing..when I told that there wasn`t any bolb(?) in the nightlamp, they said they would fix it,but they didn`t
Pretty much everything was great.
The toilet was leaking and didn't flush properly.
Cheap, clean, nice room - good value
Toilet flush was broken in my room :/
Breakfast was super. Staff were very friendly and helpful in reception, bar and restaurant. Nice pleasant relaxed atmosphere, having tea coffee making in halls of residence room was a bonus, free wifi in room would be outstanding, but having access for wifi free in public areas was good enough for me. Will definitely use again location and price were amazing thankyou
Staff happy for me to swap rooms. Rooms for the other nights were excellent. Had everything I needed.
Room on the first night was a smoker's room - really foul.
If you need a clean budget accommodation near Manchester city centre, this is the place.
Bathroom is a bit small.
The excellent location combined with cheap price was the draw to this hotel. Well, i say hotel, it is usually student halls. Despite being a bit rough around the edges the room was fine for one night.
No wifi in room. No tv in room.
I like the location cause is city centre
The price, the distance from everything, and the staff - not just the front desk, but the staff at the reception office by the elevator, and the cleaning staff - were really helpful and friendly. I will come back here again.
The lack of a removable shower head. I mean, for the price I was paying it was acceptable, But that one little detail of a removable shower head would have made it just a little better.
good location, room was okay
they had problems with the fire alarm and therefore I had many sleepless nights
good location, okay for the price
the fire alarm went off almost every night and also during the day and they didn't manage to fix this problem
there is a big recreation room with WiFi and computers where one can easily relax
the room was small, but the price quality was adequate.
Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and there was a good choice.
The rooms need some much needed work done, especially the shower room. Even budget rooms need work done on them every now and then. Very noisy when there is a function on in the hotel, closing the window didn't block out much of the sound.
Close to sugden sports centre
Nothing about the stay would want me to return. Fire alarm went off multiple times both nights. Staff not that bothered. Extremely noisy surroundings. Had to fix own shower to get it to work and the thermostats did not give a constant temperature. Nightmare 2 nights stay
Good location and budget cost
Noise from moving trains outside and room not too clean
It was clean and had towels, soap, kettle etc. Attached Pendulum Hotel was good with excellent staff and a good reasonably priced restaurant. Beds were comfortable with very clean sheets.
It did not feel very safe to a woman travelling alone. Long corridors which anyone could access and no obvious way to contact staff from my room if I had a problem. It was a long way from the main reception. The cups provided were paper ones filled with coffee and sugar sachets. There was noise of people partying, shouting and fighting all night with the odd half an hour gap. It went quiet at 6am.
The staff were always friendly and helpful. Excellent! Bedroom small but clean and tidy. A comfortable room for someone on a budget.
A couple of minor things - the shower dripped a little, and the bathroom door stuck slightly. But both issues were dealt with promptly.
The FIRE ALARM! During my nine days staying, it went off everyday except one day. And often twice a day. Also when it rings it will stop for a second, then does it again! And there was even 3 times in one day! It went off at 2 A.M., 5 A.M and lots of p.m.s no matter if you were studying, or about to to SLEEP! Further, if you booked a short stay, you will have to check in at the hotel reception, and you use the hotel entrance EVERY TIME you want to enter the hall because they don't give you the induction thing for the hall entrance. in all, no sleep quality. Also thin walls. you will be disturbed every time your roommate opens a door.
Very clean. Tea making and towels all provided. Plenty of furniture and plugs.
Fire alarms went off 3 times during the evening and night - but as this is such a big student halls, it is not surprising. Still managed to sleep ok, though.
The location was great The price was great The lady who checked me in was lovely
The room and bath room could do with a bit of a spruce up. It's student halls, but they could still do a quick lick of paint at the end of term.
Staff very helpfull
