Greeted with offer of tea and biscuits on arrival. Fresh flowers in room. Clean, light and airy bedroom. Host even drove me to where I needed to go when I couldn't find a taxi. Lovely breakfast. Super helpful couple. Wifi worked perfectly. Bedroom had garden view. Given a key to come in and out as I pleased. Felt very much at home! So much so that I kept leaving my bedroom door open and wandering around in my socks. Very lovely stay.
I stayed here with my 5 year old son for 2 nights and Peter and Catherine could not do enough to ensure our stay was perfect! The little touches such as fresh milk in the room and home made biscuits are fabulous. The breakfast menu is extremely varied and they have every diet catered for. They go that little bit further to ensure customer satisfaction. A definite 5 star b&b and I will definitely be returning!!
Warm welcome to a lovely old house with tasteful art to decorate the spacious room. The village of Bampton is interesting and has several good restaurants and pubs. Very good breakfast.
No ensuite Office desk directly outside bedroom. No privacy. Would not recommend due to lack of privacy and no ensuite.
Friendly and comfortable, very nice rooms, lovely little town too
We loved everything about Weston House
The attention to little details made a necessary business trip into a treat!
Only being able to stay 1 night :(
Liked Peter ,the owner for being efficient, kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the village of Bampton. Great places to eat in the village.Would heartily recommend Bampton and hope to stay at Weston House again soon.
The rooms are lovely and spacious clean and bright. The owners make you feel so welcome, the location is ideal for exmoor and the breakfast was delicious! Thank you!
Extremely welcoming and accommodating, a lovely cosy place to stay with warm hosts
The owner was very welcoming and really went out of his way to make us feel relaxed. The facilities were excellent!
Good Welcome Local knowledge Located in lovely town worth exploring Light and airy A lot of thought had gone into what guests need
Really great experience and our family joined us for breakfast. Owners so kind and helpful.
Stop over on our way to a wedding - very comfortable stay and very accomodating owners. Thoroughly recommend
Real care and attention given to guests. We were made to feel very welcome but given space to do what we wanted at our own pace. A lovely Place to stay.
The owners (Peter & Catherine) were very friendly and hospitable, providing a great service without being in any way intrusive, including a welcoming pot of tea and biscuits on arrival. They additionally appeared genuinely unperturbed when hauled from their beds, at 11pm, to answer a late night call from my aged Aunt on the house telephone - sorry again! The Waterlily room, in which we stayed, was light, airy & very spacious, the bed linen immaculate and the mattresses very comfortable. Catherine's art lines the walls and adds to the ambiance of the establishment; the painting of a beach and rowing boat in our bedroom was particularly appealing. We had a separate, private (exclusive to our room) bathroom, which necessitated our needing to leave our bedroom and wander a short distance along the landing to reach the facilities. However, there were fresh white toweling robes and disposable slippers supplied, for added convenience, in making this briefest of journeys. The bathroom, which was light, airy and newly decorated, contained a bath and over bath shower - nice toiletries supplied too! Breakfast was excellent - fresh fruit salad, cereals, crispy bacon (exactly as ordered!!) and runny yolks in my poached eggs every time!! Great location, right in the middle of town and close to the (50p a day - honesty box) town car park (always plenty of spaces) and other amenities, including local pubs/dining. All in all, a lovely little place to stay.
Nothing really! In an ideal world, I would have preferred an en-suite. However, I was aware of the arrangement when I booked the room and, as such, was not concerned in any way. My son, however, who was travelling with me, was more self conscious about bumping into other parties on the way to and from performing his daily ablutions - your typical teenage angst! - but once wrapped up in one of the supplied robes (see above) it was no problem. If, like me, you are a "bath person", start drawing your bath before brushing your teeth (etc) as it does take a little while to fill. Otherwise - all good :-)
Very friendly and helpful owners. Very homely with lots of nice little touches you normally have in larger hotels. Very secure and lovely breakfast.
Friendly, helpful Made very welcome Good breakfast - even for an early start
Decor and fittings rather basic but still effective and comfortable
Peter and Caroline were very accomodating with our time of departure as we had a local funeral to attend in the afternoon and needed to change clothes. athe breakfast was excellent and the bed very comfortable.
comfortable room, good breakfast, pleasant people
would have preferred ensuite bathroom
Good welcome from friendly owners. Very comfortable room good sized bathroom with huge shower. Super restaurant very close by in quiet village.
No on site parking which is a problem as we both have walking difficulties. Having thought I'd booked for two people I was surprised that the reservation was only for single occupancy of a double room and that to add my wife to the booking increased the cost fro £50 to £70 which I consider an excessive increase for what amounted to one extra breakfast.
The room was lovely and the bed was extremely good. Recommend the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon
We had to work out how to use the shower
