The grounds, the hotel, the staff and the food. It's a very tranquil and peaceful hotel with beautiful gardens in which to escape. Yet it's so convenient being very close to M40 and A34 but once inside the gates you would never know it!
I really cannot fault this hotel it is in a stunning location and we had a beautiful room. However it was very short staffed. The team on duty must all have been in thier late teens early twenties and took on a lot of responsibility very capably . I cannot fault the team on duty 18/19 th July however they should be praised for coping with a very busy night
This was a very busy time being the cla Show at Bleinham Palace and for soom reason the staffing situation was dire.
Absolutely loved the area, the grounds and the feel to the manor. Even though we had an unfortunate problem with the booking on arrival the manager Emma took fantastic care of us, kept us in the loop and arranged a fantastic alternative very last minute and went above and beyond to help us and another couple, what could have been a bad situation was well handled and recovered well done to Emma and her team at the manor
Didn't like turning up and not having a room, after booking 2 weeks before the date and having a confirmation we were looking forward to a care free time, just one night for a party with my old college, we had turned up to another couple having the same problem where we had the room booked but not put into the system so we were room less however there was a vacancy at the time of booking. However the hotel more than made up for this by providing us with somewhere alternative to stay, making up the rest of the bill and offering us a complimentary night back at the hotel
Large comfortable room. Good food. Great setting.
The car park had been block booked by another guest. It was barricaded off so that guests could not park or even drop off baggage at the entrance. I had to carry my bags a long way in the rain. The attitude of staff was that it was tough luck. I do not expect this for £225 per night. The following morning my wife's taxi was booked for the wrong time so that she missed her train to London.
Amazing facilities and felt very relaxed. Staff helpful and meal at the black sheep was good but it would of been nice to eat in the hotel but there was a wedding on.
There was a wedding on so I felt that was more important / the main focus of the staff.
The breakfast was excellent, the grounds SUPERB, Coffee was first class - I just wish I spent more time there - I will be back!
The floorboards creaked badly, and I felt sorry in case anyone below me heard (I didn't arrive until midnight) - however, there is little that could have been done about it, it is a WONDERFUL old building, kept up to the highest standards and the creaking goes with the territory.
Gorgeous setting, beautiful terrace and delicious breakfast. Despite faults I would go back, this place is idyllic
Slow breakfast service, poor wifi, very hot room. £4.50 for a coffee!
The gardens were outstanding. The staff were very helpful and courteous .
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss not enough staff. No cereal or fresh fruit, had to wait for tea a least 15 mins. Soggy toast!!!
The location (convenient to M40 and A34 but quiet), the food and the atmosphere.
The really short lead on the kettle in our room, and the lack of a shower curtain on the bath made having a shower difficult. Service was mostly good, but let down on occasions (both at dinner and at breakfast our bread took ages to arrive).
Price of dining and no internet and very weak phone signal
Food, excellent. Service, excellent. Location, buildings and gardens, outstanding.
Not much, we really enjoyed our stay.
Helpful staff, cosy room, beautiful building.
The vermin scrabbling around in the walls and ceiling all night. Thankfully my wife slept through it.
Very friendly and helpful staff and the food was superb.
Breakfast organisation was shambolic and really didn't do the venue justice. Having said that the breakfast itself was good but it would have been nice to have it all together. For a quality establishment they should think about individual service.
Staff were very friendly and professional, the hotel manager was quick to resolve an issue with the room. Breakfast was fantastic, I would recommend tea in front of the fireplace. The gardens were beautiful. We will be going back.
The first room we were shown needs renovation.
Location and breakfast
Room was awful. Sited in attic. To say this room was overpriced is a gross understatement
Made to feel very welcome.Relaxing rather like going into a historical time warp- and that is a compliment.
The friendliness of the staff
fixed menu with NO choices on Sunday evening
The authentic feel of quality furniture and paintings, the library books and beautiful historical features which make it unique are what I enjoyed during my short stay. The gardens were stunning and pool area lovely. I hope the beige carpets being laid down and the new white furniture in the restored rooms will not destroy the heritage of this singular property which I intend on visiting again!
The beige carpets , white furniture and theme park style plaques next to the doors of the rooms overlooking the croquet lawn.
