Irvine Bay, hotel in Irvine

Situated in Irvine in the Ayrshire region, Irvine Bay has a terrace. This 3-star guest house offers a housekeeping service.

It was vey handy to have the studio which made the stay very private. The size of the room was big enough and everything seemed new and very clean. Also the from of the studio had a small table with couple of chairs to get some fresh air if you would like to. The location is very good next to lrvine waterside walk and just about a lovely walk to the beach park ( which is amazing). The place is dog friendly so our dog had enough space to sleep since the room was quite big.

There is plenty of choice for eating and drinking.

There is plenty of choice for eating and drinking. All tastes are catered for with restaurants and take-aways as well as cafes and coffee shops. Walking around felt safe and was pleasent with good architecture to admire. The main shopping centre had plenty of choice with abundant parking as well.

The shops in town and The Rivergate Shopping Centre are all within fairly easy walking distance. Hamiltons, 2 High St. The Carrick 112 High St and Adesso, 6 Glasgow Vennel are all good eating places but there are plenty of cafes and takeaways to suit everyone. The Harbour area is a good place to spend some time at.

Has to be the beach and other surrounding beaches.

Has to be the beach and other surrounding beaches. We stayed in a heat wave which was fantastic. I know Irvine as I grew up there and was back visiting family. Some lovely restaurants and bars. Lots of different dog walking areas and a lot of dog friendly beaches. Visited Troon, Largs (Viking festival was on) Ayr (Ayr Show was on) and various other locations of interest.

Lovely historic town, home of the Scottish Maritime Museum.

Lovely historic town, home of the Scottish Maritime Museum. We stayed at Harbourside which was very quiet. Very friendly place, we ate at the Ship Inn, they were fantastic hosts, beautiful food and dog friendly. They even gave us some milk for our morning coffee because we couldn’t find a shop open and it was getting late. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to explore the area much, we had to move on

Definitely NO BEACH FRONT at the Marina View Guest House -...

Definitely NO BEACH FRONT at the Marina View Guest House - only a broken down old 'harbour'. This establishment is NOT a Guest House! Reviewers are PRAISING it because it has a fridge and a microwave in the room. WONDERFUL, except that NO Knives, Forks, Spoons or Plates of any sort are provided, and no mention is made of this on the website - Booking.com's fault. How are people to eat food heated in the microwave? - Use their fingers and the microwave plate itself? There must be many better places in Irvine, an old town for the most part, but with a number of attractions like the 'Stone Dragon'.

Braidmead House is right in the centre of Irvine, easy access to all routes to enable exploration further in the area, not far from the ferry to Arran and an easy drive from Glasgow Airport. There is ample parking. The choice of breakfast is very good and the food itself was excellent. The room is a good size and the ensuite (shower) clean and in good order. There is a very comfortable large client lounge with a TV and a well stocked honesty bar. The owner - Diane was kind, helpful and very approachable.

The spa was lovely although very busy in the thermal suite when we visited. Therapies were excellent as were therapists. On site restaurant was good and saved any driving as the hotel is situated outside the main town and requires a car to get anywhere. There were plenty of gluten free options for dinner and breakfast which was good. Staff were all helpful and friendly in all areas - spa, hotel and restaurant.

Great wee guest house on the Harbourside in Irvine. Very clean, en-suite facilities. Comfortable bed. Very handy to have microwave and fridge there. Nice restaurants such as Niche, and Duncan's Brasserie next door. Walking distance to the beach, town and train station and easy parking out front. Would definitely book again when back in the area.

Fantastic stay at this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights in order to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. The room was spotless could not fault it. Breakfast was included and again couldn’t fault it. Staff were very friendly and the owner went over and above to accommodate any request. Highly recommend if you are on the area.

Our whole stay was excellent. Diana was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast choice was superb. It is so near to the centre of the town, which is also really nice, with a very interesting harbour area. We felt as if we had come to stay with a friend in their home.
