Location was perfect for the function we were attending. Breakfast was very good. Room was charming and bed very comfortable. Free parking Toilet (room) so small we had to sit 'side-saddle' on the lav itself! Paid extra for superior sea-view room but the hotel currently has scaffolding up so although we could see the sea, we could also see planks, metal poles, tatty bits of plastic and men going up and down the ladders looking into our room. It also blocked our being able to open the full-length window and get out onto the balcony. Plus filthy windows, which could easily be cleaned as the scaffolding is up. So all-in- all, not currently worth paying the extra for sea-view, although it probably will be when the scaffolding has come down.

Walked around town, along the beach, lovely restaurants/coffee houses/shops. The hotel room was amazing (room 17) with the sea view which was amazing. Eastbourne is a beautiful place and would definatley stay at your hotel again. It was a good deal for £85.00 for the 4 poster bed suete and would hope to get that deal again. N/A

The location was good, right on the seafront and in Eastbourne which is where we wanted to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the bedding, room and bathroom all very clean (except the windows!). The cooked breakfast was very nice. The hotel was a bit shabby and in need of refurbishment. The windows were dirty but everywhere else was clean. I would prefer to serve myself to juice and cereal at breakfast.

I really liked the wallpaper and the colour paint on the doors. Breakfast was ok. I'm pretty sure I asked for twin room but ever up getting a double bed for me and my friend to share. Only there for one night so didn't bother asking to change.

Within walking distance of the train station and on the beach front and and good breakfast. The room was very neat and tidy but the walls and ceilings were paper thin so could hear our neighbours. The breakfast room could do with some new wallpaper most of the walls were full of food stains.

Good location Small, tired looking 'superior double' bedroom (I haven't seen a Pye manufactured tv for years!) And short bed where people of average heights' feet hung over the bed. I think the hotel should down grade this room using the term 'standard' as there was nothing superior about it. Breakfast was very poor quality - pre portioned cereals stacked in bowls on the side - no fresh fruit or yogurt. We weren't acknowledge when we sat down or asked for our drinks and toast order and when I asked a member of staff to take for teas/coffees she was very abrupt with me. A bit of training in soft skills is required here. All in all, not a good experience - the East Beach claims to be a hotel which has had a visit from 'The Hotel Inspector' but I think Alex Polizzi would be mortified if she returned. This said, we will not be returning.

Ideal location, friendly staff and although the bathroom was a little small the room was comfortable. The lack of parking, although this is a shared problem with many of the hotels in the area I imagine. We were lucky enough to park on the seafront heading a little out of Eastbourne quite easily with a short walk.

The view was wonderful, you could lie in bed and watch yacht races! Well ... you had to look through the scaffold ..... We all have to make repairs, but the scaffold and foreign workmen made it difficult to sit on the balcony (which was the whole reason we had booked that room, and paid extra .....) We had to put up with the paint drips on us .... Any sort of apology, or bottle of wine, or something to acknowledge the situation and compensate would have gone a long way, but there was none.

The room was lovely and brilliant for the price I paid, the beds were really comfortable and a good size, the staff were friendly and always smiling, and were brilliant when dealing with requests. The breakfast was also good and the service was great. The location of the hotel was amazing, even though we had a rear facing room the view wasn't that bad.

The staff were helpful, I had a bike that they agreed to accomodate safely overnight for me. The room I had was pleasant and comfortable and the price was reasonable. I thought the breakfast was a bit poor, I had stipulated on my booking form that I wanted a vegetarian breakfast but when I asked for it one morning I was told I should have asked the night before. I can't belive it takes that long to fry up a couple of vegetarian sausages.

Good location. Clean tidy room. Excellent facilities in the room and a good size. Scaffolding outside somewhat spoilt the view. Also basement bar area was closed because "there wasn't a coach party in". Small bar by reception closed at 21.30 when receptionist went home. Far too early.

The unusal decor, and the effort in improving the establishment, as well a specious lounge and front veranda making it an excellent place for relaxing out of your room but still in the hotel. Free parking in the road immediately next to the hotel. The breakfast staff needs more eye for detail, we were having to take items that were short on our table from other tables. The waiting staff were also doing likewise instead of making sure that the tables were properly set up. The cereals instead of being in a big container or in its box, were all pre-portioned in each bowl, but then stacked up on top of each other no seperation between the bowls, a servere health hazard.!!!

Good breakfast . Location on seafront , and room had seaviews. Lacof attention to detail e.g. old , shabby towels . Many parts of the hotel are in need of renovation . Scaffolding outside our room . Overall standard of cleanliness was below average , and the staff , whilst helpful were not well trained. The hotel advertisez itself as featured on The Hotel Inspector ... it looks many lessons still need to be implemented from the inspector s advice

The staff were extremely helpful, breakfast excellent and plenty of it. the room was excellent for views and comfortable, we did appreciate that the owners are doing a complete overall of the rooms and the one we had does need it, but this was discounted in the price so we appreciated the fact. Will definately stay there again.

“I was very pleased with the hotel and would visit again. I went to Eastbourne for a funeral and after a long journey was happy to relax in my room after a soothing bath and chill out watching tv and reading. The room and bed was very comfortable and I would highly recommend it. I had breakfast at The Mill which was excellent, well cooked and friendly attentive staff. ” Jean, Nailsea |
