nice bar nice and central to Banbury
The Car park Entrance through the is a bit narrow.
Location, excellent - well located for exploring local area. Food excellent, although would have liked a more varied menu as we stayed 5 nights. Staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble.
Stayed over xmas so nice touch with presents for guests. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Extremely quiet given location in central Banbury. A lovely hotel with great character, extremely high standard of food, comfortable rooms, excellent staff service.
Nicely furnished large room Fridge free wifi luxurious feel
Narrow bath 6am saturday morning laundry collection/delivery If youre located by a staff only door it can be noisy
The location, comfortable beds. Staff friendly, free car park.
Excellent friendly staff. Character hotel Loved Banbury town centre. Great hot buffet breakfast. Private car park behind hotel. Central location.
Shower had no water pressure. Oversized tv in cabinet that could only be viewed from sitting on old sofa and nowhere else in large room. Everything seemed in need of updating or replacement. Blanket used as mattress topper not nice ... Paid for executive room should have gone for less expensive classic room Perhaps....
Lack of attention to detail in cleanliness and housekeeping generally. Corridors and doors have scuff marks, bathroom accessories not cleaned thoroughly, shower curtain not even ironed. Presumptuous reception staff assumed that my husband would pay!!!
Size of bed. Very comfortable.
We had a suite and unfortunately the heating felt inadequate for the size of room
I was attending a course in Banbury so very handy but also pleasant comfortable surroundings. Staff polite and professional throughout my stay, would recommend.
The hotel room we had and the beautiful interior of the whole hotel, very welcoming and beautiful.
That we didn't have the mini bar when it was stated and also the restaurant not being open but the receptionist kindly recommend a few restaurants close by.
second visit to this hotel and wont be last. Comforter clean and ideally located for our needs when visiting family. this is 3rd hotel we have tried in Banbury and wont be trying anymore.
Booked a standard double and was upgraded to a suite. Excellent warm room. Plenty of hot water. Good location for the concert we were attending, just across the road. Easy access to rest of the town. Excellent breakfast. Very courteous, friendly and helpful staff.
Good locator for where we are going
That the night staff were all asleep when we came back to the hotel, despite telling them we would be back around that time. Also the exhorbitant price of breakfast
Bar - bright lights no atmosphere
Conveinuent & Close to centre & quiet
Needs a bit or TLC in some areas of the hotel , minor decoration & plumbing in toilets
Great location, old building charm such as beams, "labyrinth" hallways and historic rooms add to the English inn experience. Breakfast was very good. The pub room is also a nice historic room in which you expect English gentlemen to come and spoke pipes while discussing weighty matters of the Empire.
While the room was clean the furnishings, carpet, draperies were a bit tired and need replaced.
£5 tray charge when the place was very quiet so staff were not busy
Lovely old building good breakfast and staff friendly and helpful
Very helpful and friendly at reception.
Very shabby and tatty, looks like it was last decorated in the 70's
