Staff very helpful
Lovely family run hotel, very clean and comfortable. On arrival were offered tea or coffees, such a nice welcome after long journey. We had evening meals on 2 nights which were good home cooked food, served by friendly and efficient staff.
Car park not to easy find.
Location was great for York city centre Friendly, helpful reception staff Comfortable beds
Breakfast just ok Shower not very powerful

This was our third stay at Wheatlands Lodge, everything was really good as always! Polite friendly staff, clean comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Great location from train station and only a 10 minute walk to the shops, bars, etc. We will return next year hopefully
Stay wasn't long enough!!
I'm a taller person, so the double bed was a bit of a tight squeeze for me, but that can't be helped.
The location, the roomy and comfortable communal area's, the helpful and friendly staff, we'll kept and comfortable rooms, and excellent food.
Restricted parking, the lateness in the morning that the heating and hot water came on.
Good sized room! Good food £15.50 for four courses! Good breakfast ! When asked for something not on menu was no problem! ! Friendly staff ! When came in after 11pm night porter served us at bar ! Nice man! O also great value for money ! Evening four coarse meal £15.50 ! Two people b+b £50 bargin!
Not a lot! Hotel a little bit out of city centre ! Buses near by and a taxi from bus stn £5.60 at 12.30 pm! And if u are over 60 no lift! But would defiantly stay again not 60 yet but getting there!
It was very homely and the breakfast was lovely! They couldn't do enough for you. Would highly recommend and already have.
NOT A BAD HOTEL FOR A WEEKEND IN YORK,VERY GOOD LOCATION.
BREAKFAST WAS TO EARLY FINISH.
Delightful room - spacious. Good breakfast and roomy dining area. Very clean and beautifully maintained in a rather unusual style. Comfortable bar. Warm! Friendly staff.
There was nothing that we did not like except that parking in the street could be slightly problematic if one arrives by car. Not impossible to park, however, by searching around. If I had not used the car I would certainly give an "excellent" location score.
Friendly staff and great value for money. A must use hotel when visiting York.
Lovely friendly hotel, comfortable room, good facilities, excellent location, good breakfast cooked to order. Comfortable lounge and bar areas to relax in. Service at breakfast was very efficient without seeming rushed. Would definitely stay here again.
The vegetarian option at breakfast was hit and miss - for the full English one day it was the full works the next day half as much. Veggie options at dinner were on a separate menu, as if an afterthought. Didn't like the smokers outside the rear entrance under our window - smelly and noisy.
Very pleasant helpful staff. Good location
Having to wait 40 minutes for hot water for shower
I liked the welcome and the cup of tea after a hard day at work! I liked the location but I left for work by 7 and am not sure what York is like later in the morning! Lovely warm shower!
Getting car blocked in! Arranged tea and toast for 6.30 but it didn't arrive on any of the 3 mornings. Had breakfast at work though.
Super friendly staff, good position on the edge of the city center, comfy rooms, reasonably priced bar and brilliant value for a 3 day break.
Tight and small car park (not the hotels fault), slightly misleading comments about the on road parking outside being free and unlimited (its strictly timed and patrolled). Narrow and steep stairs.
hotel close to the centre of york room adequate for our needs breakfast food very good
9am deadline for eating breakfast a bit early when on a break our room was above the smoking area so we were unable to open the window inadequate rear parking for the size of the hotel
Location could walk or get a bus number 4 into city. Breakfast freshly cooked and hot. Nice to have tea in a pot and still boiling hot. Cosy, homely feel with nice lounge area.
No lifts and narrow stairs. Room did look a little dated, but comfortable. Breakfasts finished early at 9am.
A very good hotel good value / food first class. Staff very friendly & helpfull
The place was great, the staff great, the food brilliant, it was a pleasure to stay there, highly recommended and will be going again.
The staff we're very helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and they are knowledgable about their city.
