We received a warm welcome, the customer care was brilliant.
Our room wasn't as clean as we would've liked it to be, the cups were dirty and the sheets weren't changed for our second night. The Wi-Fi signal strength in our room was poor, even when we moved around the room to get a slightly stronger signal, the speed of the Wi-Fi wasn't really good.
Excellent location, especially if you are driving to Alton Towers (only five miles away). Rooms and facilities all first class. Maybe the hotel should think of providing a transfer service to Alton Towers, could be a money spinner, it cost us £60 return for 8 people on a Saturday
If you going to Alton towers very good place to stay about ten minets in a car. Friendly staff
The man running the hotel was great, he even kept the bar open for us!
Its in a very difficult place to get a taxi
Location. Surrounded by countryside
Needed to get a taxi for a 10min ride. Gary remarked it would cost a fortune just to get a taxi out to the hotel. He suggested we drive, leave the car there and he would drop us off after breakfast in the morning. Top bloke!
Location was handy being so close to alten towers. Staff were friendly and welcoming
Decor was aged and carpet in bathroom
This hotel is gorgeous, the decor, setting, view, everything is stunning. Very pretty hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and willing. It was incredibly good value for money. The breakfast provided was really nice and extensive.
Go into the hotel expecting 3 star, not 4 star. It's not for the lack of enthusiasm from the staff, they're lovely, but I think they could do with one or two more training courses and a better eye for detail to make it really 4 star! For example, no loo roll holder, loo rolls half used, other people's shampoo and conditioner was still in the bath, the double beds are two singles zipped together, messy wardrobe, curtain not on a proper rail and small stain on drawers. All these things don't really matter and aren't crucial to your stay, (and we really loved our stay there!) they're more of an attention to detail thing, but those are the the kind of things that I would expect to be changed if it was 4 star service. However the price reflects 3 star, so I am not complaining! Overall, great hotel.
Country location, very peaceful
The view was amazing and location was good .
Unfortunately we had a noisy neighbour on top they didn`t let us to sleep specially my son was really tired as he couldn`t have rest . even when they were walking made a lot of noise as the building was really week i think .Despite of the manager being helpful our room was not really clean and wifi all the time disconnected,we stayed 2 nights there ,they didnt clean the room in between also was torture for us :-( Breakfast was not pleasant at all .we were 3 in room but we had 2 towel for bath. I think no one can survive there in winter as it was cold and nights are really noisy .I will not recommend to any one if you looking to have a relaxing time as you will never get that in there.
the location of this hotel was beautiful and on the approach it looked quite promising, this all stopped when we got inside
Room, Lack of restaurant, lack of cooked breakfast, attitude of staff. stayed on 20th Aug and there was an A4 poster on the back of the bedroom door adverising a cooked breakfast but they did not offer this service at breakfast.
that it was close to Alton towers and if you are just looking for somewhere to put your head down for one night.
room was alright when we eventually got it hotel more golf thing and isolated. breakfast was cereal, croissants and toast no meat or cheese. if you want hot food need to order night before which we were not told.
The staff and owner couldn't do enough for us. The location is great for Alton Towers and awesome views from a great building. The place was clean and modern decor.
The decor was modern and well done but nothing really matched and it was quite masculine, but I suppose for a golf club that's appropriate. The beds were really uncomfortable and creaky so we didn't have a great nights sleep. We would have preferred to have an evening meal at the hotel but as that was not an option we found there were lots of other options within a short drive of the hotel.
We went up to spend a couple of days at Alton Towers and this was a perfect location as it's about 10-15 mins away. Once we arrived after a day at Alton Towers we were taken to our room which was perfect. It had all what we needed, a decent amount of space and overal was perfect for just a nights stay. Breakfast was included in our booking which was continental but we had the option to go full English once we arrived but the continental was fresh croissants, fruit, different flavoured yogurts, also toast to order and finally freshly brewed tea and coffee. The location was beautiful and tranquil, slept like a log. I would fully recommend this hotel because ultimately the service, room and experience there was memorable
To be honest there was nothing to fault
Clean place and friendly staff
Close to Alton towers & clean
No atmosphere, no evening food available, squeaky and uncomfortable mattress and plain/ boring/ poor breakfast... I would have gladly travelled further for better!
Friendly, helpful staff Lovely room Comfy bed Good location for Alton Towers
Curtain rail fell down No option for a cooked breakfast that I knew of Noisy family room above us - not hotel's fault
Great friendly staff, lovely clean and comfortable room:) Beautiful building and interior.
Good continental breakfast but no dinner facilities. Also no phone in room and wasn't able to connect to internet!
Could hear everything from room above, even person turning in bed and snoring! Limited breakfast. Location was very remote with nowhere within walking distance to eat in the evening.
The look of the place The room itself Location Staff
Could do with a cooked breakfast option
Friendly staff and comfortable room
Shower was dreadful. It didn't fit the holder and water went everywhere!
Location nothing else
Staff with very bad attittude didnt know what they were doing, was told on arrival that my room key had gone missing,so waited nearly ten minutes for that.Me & my 2 children had just been to alton towers for our 1st day visit & looking forward to having a meal & drink but no nothing at all no restaurant & was told at 9pm the bar had closed utter disgrace this isnt a 4 star hotel its more like a hostel.Rooms very expensive & no working shower. When booking this break it said on website free continental breakfast come down next morning after bad night sleep to find nothing so my 2 children n myself had no dinner night before plus no breakfast so as you can imagine very upset children.I Wouldnt recommend this so called 4 star hotel to anyone.
The bed was comfy
Room 5 is shocking. If I was staying in that room , I'd have left. Room 7 was better but not as pictured
The king bed was very uncomfortable, I hardly slept.
the bed were comfortable and the room was clean
