the location of this hotel was beautiful and on the approach it looked quite promising, this all stopped when we got inside
Room, Lack of restaurant, lack of cooked breakfast, attitude of staff. stayed on 20th Aug and there was an A4 poster on the back of the bedroom door adverising a cooked breakfast but they did not offer this service at breakfast.
that it was close to Alton towers and if you are just looking for somewhere to put your head down for one night.
room was alright when we eventually got it hotel more golf thing and isolated. breakfast was cereal, croissants and toast no meat or cheese. if you want hot food need to order night before which we were not told.
The staff and owner couldn't do enough for us. The location is great for Alton Towers and awesome views from a great building. The place was clean and modern decor.
The decor was modern and well done but nothing really matched and it was quite masculine, but I suppose for a golf club that's appropriate. The beds were really uncomfortable and creaky so we didn't have a great nights sleep. We would have preferred to have an evening meal at the hotel but as that was not an option we found there were lots of other options within a short drive of the hotel.
Clean place and friendly staff
Close to Alton towers & clean
No atmosphere, no evening food available, squeaky and uncomfortable mattress and plain/ boring/ poor breakfast... I would have gladly travelled further for better!
Friendly, helpful staff Lovely room Comfy bed Good location for Alton Towers
Curtain rail fell down No option for a cooked breakfast that I knew of Noisy family room above us - not hotel's fault
Great friendly staff, lovely clean and comfortable room:) Beautiful building and interior.
Good continental breakfast but no dinner facilities. Also no phone in room and wasn't able to connect to internet!
Could hear everything from room above, even person turning in bed and snoring! Limited breakfast. Location was very remote with nowhere within walking distance to eat in the evening.
The look of the place The room itself Location Staff
Could do with a cooked breakfast option
Friendly staff and comfortable room
Shower was dreadful. It didn't fit the holder and water went everywhere!
Location nothing else
Staff with very bad attittude didnt know what they were doing, was told on arrival that my room key had gone missing,so waited nearly ten minutes for that.Me & my 2 children had just been to alton towers for our 1st day visit & looking forward to having a meal & drink but no nothing at all no restaurant & was told at 9pm the bar had closed utter disgrace this isnt a 4 star hotel its more like a hostel.Rooms very expensive & no working shower. When booking this break it said on website free continental breakfast come down next morning after bad night sleep to find nothing so my 2 children n myself had no dinner night before plus no breakfast so as you can imagine very upset children.I Wouldnt recommend this so called 4 star hotel to anyone.
The bed was comfy
Room 5 is shocking. If I was staying in that room , I'd have left. Room 7 was better but not as pictured
The king bed was very uncomfortable, I hardly slept.
the bed were comfortable and the room was clean
close to Alton towers family room ideal and spacious with a large bathroom set in a beautiful location continental breakfast simple but was all that was needed
no plug for bath noisy child in room above, kept crying all night and kept the whole family awake a light bulb missing from bedside light on right hand side of the bed milk not replaced in room for tea and coffee after the 1st day
we liked everything about Whiston Hall, our room and how peacefull it was.Great for visiting alton towers.
Easy to get there. Loads of free parking. Beautiful views. Good for golfers.
Very poor breakfast. Cold room.
Room spacious and clean.
Door was locked not allowing access to breakfast area so had to go outside in the rain. No highchairs in hotel, luckily we had a booster seat in the car for our toddler.
I was not happy because when we booked they said a cooked breakfast was available at a extra cost but when we got there we were told it was not available. Staff member was helpful though good for a 1 night stay near Alton towers.
Location was great, particularly convenient for Alton Towers. Lovely views, quiet surroundings
Not much around for kids, particularly child friendly restaurants. Rooms were clean but very basic, would'nt stay longer than 1 night
Proximity to alton towers
The bedroom was damp and hadn't been cleaned in quite some time No food available and limited information on local places to eat out Breakfast was minimal
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Close to Alton Towers. Staff helpful but unexperienced and out of their depth. Bathrooms were large and comfortable. Wardrobe was very good. Lounge area was nice. The hotel has alot of potential, but seems more like a golf club than a hotel. It will do if you are going to be at Alton Towers for most of the day so don't expect much.
Reception closes at around 9pm. This is not acceptable for a hotel. Room quality and size was not very good. Rooms had no view. No fridges in rooms (4-star?). Family room just had extra foldable beds put in room which were not comfortable. Nowehere to hang anything in bathrooms and towels not replaced the next day. Only continental breakfast was available even though booking said both types of breakfast were. Tried to charge extra for eggs! No where to have dinner at night as location is remote and would have to drive to centre or order in. Had to ask for heaters to be activated (as it got a bit cold for children). Not suitable for families at all. None of this is acceptable for a "4-star" hotel. This did not seem like a hotel at all, more like a B&B so that's what you should expect.
Didn't like that itnwasnjust continental, not much choice though.
Great location for Alton Towers. Beautiful views of the countryside.
No facilities for food in the evening and with it being so remote no where within walking distance to get any.
