The Whitcliffe Hotel  

good location and plesent staff

It was cold at night (heating switched off) and I had to wait for hot water to come trough for several minutes.

lovely accomodation and very friendly staff

Good quality of food and plenty of it.

Stayed for a wedding celebration. Staff were quite friendly and helpful. Was reasonably clean.

Owner (I think it was) wasn't too friendly, we weren't allowed to take our children into a quiet bar area for them to eat supper while the disco was on. Room was a bit cold and couldn't get radiator to come on. Food was a bit poor, wedding meal was patchy, from not very good to excellent depending on which course. When we came down to breakfast, an hour before it was supposed to finish, we were told that the buffet was finished and were on to plated service. I was given a plate with 4 sausages and 4 rashers of bacon which I was told was "enough for four". Wouldn't go back, but then, wouldn't expect too really.

The Whitcliffe is a very relaxing hotel. The staff cannot do enough for you. They were friendly and very pleasing staff to be around. The rooms and hotel in general were warm and a very pleasing cosy feel to the hotel.

There was nothing to fault the hotel.

Staff, in particular the Manager, could not have been more helpful to us in his efforts to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

We appeared to be the only guests there.

We attended a wedding,the staff could not do enough for you they were very helpful and attentive to there customers,nothing was too much trouble, We asked for a different room as oours was above the disco,and we was moved straight away no fuss was made. We also slept well.

Unfortunatley the breakfast let them down a bit the egg was well over done,but they gave you a choice with your cooked breakfirst. Otherwise we have no complaints

An extremely nice hotel, near to Cleckheaton town centre but quiet and in a rural grounds, Staff very friendly, and of the Hotel I could not find any faults. I will return there again.

Quiet location

The staff provided a really excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. It was a welcoming, very clean and comfortable hotel. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Spacious bedroom with shower over bath. Large bed and plenty of storage for clothes and suitcases. Staff efficient and friendly and very helpful. Also, plenty of parking spaces. The Whitcliffe Hotel was the venue for a 60th Birthday Party we were attending.

Shower a bit feeble (flow of water rather sparse).

All staff were rude though oddly they seemed friendly toward a wedding group they had booked. Were initially given a room with a sodden toilet floor that smelled obviously due to leak which one of us inadvertantly stepped in. Another room given but no apology. At first refused the booked single occupancy double room for my 60 year old mother who wanted a double bed, given a single but after much debate given what was booked. Some of the full english breakfast items had run out at breakfast with a full hour left to go. Shower was all but a dribble. Returned to room at midnight asked in advance and were told wouldnt be a problem, took half hour to get attention of the staff in order to get in. Wouldnt stay here again if you paid me.
