Score from 131 reviews Good
location, parking, food, comfort - all good
Nothing to dislike
Food was Lovely
Comfortable bed and nice long bath
Bathroom light did not work. Poor reception on some TV channels
Excellent location Able to make day trips from here
The people and staff were friendly and helpful
Limited internet access (not in the room) Average breakfast - wanted two soft fried eggs - received one soft the other very hard despite request
had to ask for2nd towel/pillow bathroom door would not shut no nonslip mat in shower no grab handles or anything to use as support getting in/out of bath also thought 12£ a go for breakfast was rather expensive. noisy alarm-type noise I think it was the bathroom exhaust fan bearing
We liked the recently updated accommodation - it had everything that we needed. And the staff were very helpful. The off-street car parking was good. The town is pleasant and although our room overlooked the High Street it was not noisy at all. Some useful small shops as well. The evening meals that we had were well cooked although the portions were rather large for us but would well suit someone with a larger appetite. Cricklade makes a good place from which to tour the Cotswolds being a nice quiet town from which to start off as there is not a lot of traffic to cause delays and it is very near the main dual-carriageway to Cirencester etc.
There was not much that we didn't like. The only problem that we had was the curtains at the large bedroom window did not pull across properly so quite a bit of light came into the room when the street lights were on
Everything! Quaint hotel, clean, friendly staff, nice pub/restaurant downstairs with good food and drink! Also a good location.
Can't think of anything!
Friendly and clean accommodation!
The electric shower wasn't great!
The food was wonderful Bed very comfortable
Taps very noisy Room very odd open shower to bedroom compartment
Newly appointed bathroom, crisp white sheets, very clean.
The house maid staff were brilliant and very accommodating when we got there and saved the day
The first contact by manager / owner could have been better . We got there we were told we couldn't have room early and we hadn't noticed 2 pm book in and only when we were trying to book alternative hotel did they say they could make up 1 room early for us to use which saved the day ! Great that they have good housekeeping staff !!
The staff were very pleasant, polite and extremely helpful. We liked the relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was very good.
The smell in our shower room. The toilet worked through a maserater which gave off a horrible smell. The step up into the shower was rather high. Could do with modernising.
Very friendly staff, staying there on my own felt safe, room was excellent and breakfast was so big I couldn't eat it all, would definitely stay there again
i liked everything
The evening food was nicely presented, served quite quickly and had huge portions. If you had a starter and a main you probably would not have room for pud too!
We booked two rooms for one night. Both rooms were tired and dated, damp water stains on ceilings in places. Strangely there were picture frames around some of the light switches, but light shades missing in our bathroom.( room 18) Light switch fittings in room 14 are very loose.. This was a bit worrying. In both rooms the shower heads were really filthy and the shower cubicle/ bath screen needed rotting woodwork surrounding it to be sorted. In room 18 what we thought was a wardrobe with a folding door , turned out to be a part of what we assumed to be an old shower room- complete with a wardrobe, bathroom tiles and a electric shower pull cord! When booking we included breakfast but was told quite abruptly at the breakfast table that only continental breakfast was included in the room rate. However there was the offer of ham and cheese ( lovely ham) We did not consider the hotel good value for money. If it had a really good clean and maintained correctly, then the price may be fair.
Convenient location for Swindon work, lovely village. Great room.
Location and price
Shower wouldn't maintain a stable temperature. Breakfast.
Nice rooms and a very new and clean bathroom. The building and outside area were nice as well. The landlord was very friendly and chatty.
The staff, even to getting me a sweet that was not on the main menu, nothing was too much trouble, and we met such interesting characters in the bar, loved the walks.
Nothing at all, Only that the time went too quickly
Small but comfy room. Everything you needed. Good food.
Small window in room.
The food was excellent, the room very good value.
We could hear the kitchen fans until midnight.
excellent service with lovely breakfast
bathroom door didn't lock
Comfortable bed; spotlessly clean and excellent food reasonably priced. A good halfway stop for older drivers heading for the West Country.
Two flights of stairs to our room(see older drivers comment!) However the owner advised that rooms with easier access are available.
The friendly atmosphere, excellent food, lovely clean room with good facilities
that our visit was too short due to family commitments
