Room clean and comfortable. Generally a pleasant stay. The car parking was slightly off site necessitating a trip around the one-way system.

Location convenient. lady at Reception very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine. Extremely noisy at night. Unfortunately, we didn't discover the earplugs until the morning as we hadn't been warned about it. Smell from toilet suggested there was a leak somewhere.

Location and staff atitude, breakfast. Noisy room - from outside the rear, room right next to fire door which banged every time people walked past. Poor bathroom facility, toiletries, towels of low standard.

The room was very large and modern. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The hallways and other areas need a some modernisation. When we arrived we were told 'your executive room is over the bar and it will be noisy until 12. This should have been made clear at the time of booking. There is a lot of noise outside at night with drunk people shouting as they left clubs and pubs. Obviously not the hotels fault though double glazing would be useful.

Friendly staff who telephoned the week before arrival to inform me that it might be noisy because of an event they were hosting; (they even provided free earplugs which were not needed.) Good food. Large comfortable well furnished room. Faulty plumbing in bathroom

The breakfast was very good, the lady in reception was very helpful, but the next time someone our age books in consider an alternative to the top of the building and they might consider coming back. I didn't like the fact that we were put in a very small room at the op of the building, my partner has arthritus and it was very hard going for her up all those stairs, if we had known where the room was to be located we would never had booked with you, we are both in our 60's and an alternative would have been nice,. The room was very noisy all night from a boiler or central heating, the tv didn't work until my partner sorted that out, and there was a draught from the windows.

Good central location. Free wifi and parking included in the price of the room. Very good quality ingredients used in the breakfast. Recognising that this is a town centre hotel, a little external noise is to be expected. What was not expected was for the hotel owners answer to the external noise being to provide, as standard, earplugs - indeed there is a printed card encouraging the use of earplugs?? Have you never heard of double glazing !!! I realise that it is an old building, but the following week I stayed in the Malmaison in central Manchester and the Leopold in Sheffield, both on city center main roads with trams running the other side of the window - no earplugs and no noise. The leopold is a listed building, so come on White Hart, install secondary glazing as a minum. On my third night it was very windy outside - with the windows firmly closed the curtains flapped like the sail on a boat in rough seas - disgraceful!! When I mentioned this to the receptionist his response was, "it isn't cold though is it" - every thought of a cameo role in Fawlty towers? Do yourself a favour, if you want the town centre, book the premier inn and pay for a taxi into town !!

Cental location, decent food and bar The hotel was almost devoid of residents. So why did they give us a room at the end of the building, next to the noisiest ventilator,or extractor fans or similar. They must have known of this nuisance.Quite unnecessary, but not something the customer can check, when booking on line
