The beer, the food, the excellent staff, the old fashioned , traditional pub atmosphere. Breakfast is brilliant and the food in the restaurant is superb.
The pillows were a bit thin. Should really have asked for a change because I am sure we would have got a positive response.
Comfy country inn with log fires home cooked food with lovely home cooked chips. Got up in the morning to a lovely freshly cooked Cumbria breakfast.
Cozy pub full of charm. Comfortable clean bedroom . Excellent breakfast. Good value for money.
No wi fi.
Lovely historic small inn, fine food, friendly staff, comfortable room.
All the staff friendly and helpful lovely food and plenty of it to and bar area very nice and cosy. And the bed was fantastic one of the best nights sleep, would definitely go back again no problem.
Nothing to not like
The food was excellent, staff were really friendly and gave top service, and the bed, well after a hard days fell walking, the bed was sublime, so comfortable
the location was a good base to tour the local area. The beer was very good ,which was good for me . quiet and comfortable room pleasant staff
the menu for meals was not really to mine and the wifes taste, but we did not see if anything else was available.the downside to our stay was we had no TV due to a fault in the area and also the radio in the room would not pick up an FM signal.
The old world charm and character of this hostelry. It's peaceful village location. The friendly welcome and quality of service. The food. The ambience of the bar, the restaurant, and particularly the first floor breakfast room with views across the countryside. In fact we loved everything about this place.
Booked an ensuite room and got one with a bathroom across the corridor with no robes provided so had to get dressed in middle of the night to visit the bathroom. Pre booked our meal then had to ask 3 times for our food and got it 45 minutes late.
The food was very good, nice friendly bar in a traditional inn. We enjoyed our stay and would return.
No TV signal!
Breakfast was good in a room which had a beautiful view. Bedroom was clean and large
Great pub downstairs
Room 3, the roof is slanted so you can't stand in the shower and men can't pee in the toilet.
Stayed here 2 days ago. Staff we're fab and food was excellet very good value for money and the whole place has character. Everything is close by that you could need and even better very child friendly! Will be booking again for early next year. Reccomended to loads already! :)
Great Hospitality and Service.Affordable price. We loved the food. It was home-made with locally produced ingredients. The staff were very kind. They considered my dietary requirement. In fact it was the fist time that an inn has considered my dietary requirements. We felt very welcome. We will come back.
Food was excellent, lovely old fashioned pub
Food was fresh and tasty staff were very friendly Room was beautiful Gorgeous location Close to family attractions
Cosy pub good food
Had no tv reception & no mobile connection.
Evening meal is highly recommended with plenty of choice on the menu, generous portions and all reasonably priced too! Friendly helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Well kept bar with plenty of choice to satisfy a variety of tastes.
Location was perfect rest over, on our way to Fort William. The food served on the evening was exceptional & worth a revisit in the future.I enjoyed my visit & the hosts/staff were very friendly.
A loose/sloping shelf where the tea/kettle lay, could have scolded anyone was a concern in the bedroom we stayed in. Also the wall mounted heater was faulty in the bathroom. Both were reported to the staff, which I hope got rectified?
Great food, lovely staff, lovely room
We took our 3 dogs away for a few days and the pub is very remote so this was good. The food was a bit hit and miss but when it was good it was nice and the room was spotless. Breakfast is basic no frills but good full Cumbrian Breakfast.
Very disappointed with the room it was number 5 an attic room with 2 tiny velux windows no good for my 6ft husband. The staff are there but not very friendly. If you want to be near civilisation forget it there isn't even a shop or alternative pub so you are very isolated.Booking.com took our money on booking which is not made clear at the time of booking until you have submitted your card details.
I found the White Hart to be easy going with down to earth people. The food was great the service excellent, and I felt at home instantly. Now then I nearly forgot to mention the wide range of local ales! All anodyne coul wish for....
Not much in fact nothing I can think of.
Nestled in a quiet village but near enough to explore surrounding attractions. Food was excellent. Excellent value for money. Dogs very welcome.
Nothing! All good :)
Staff were lovely and very accommodating, food amazing - we saw the specials and thought that was the main menu - I wanted 4/5 dishes, then I saw the menu! It all looked and tasted wonderful. Room lovely.
Bed creaked every time we moved but minor issue in the grand scheme of things!
