The charm of the whole place - the delightful four poster bedroom (with patio!); the fact that we were free to dine from the dinner menu in any of the different little bars; the old world atmosphere and yet up-to date facilities and the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff.
Beautiful hotel. Great location, comfortable, clean, friendly, pure quality! Lovely breakfast and dinner.
I'm picking holes really because overall the hotel was excellent.....however the wi fi struggled to reach the rooms and the shower pressure was naff.
The area, the hotel, the staff
Nothing was negative
Check-in staff professional and welcoming. Location for our stay convenient to town. Free WiFi. Quiet room.
Hotel was pretty full and unfortunately staff were unable to cope with breakfast orders during a peak period.
Friendly staff, lovely warm rooms.Beautiful restaurant and nice snug bar.
Could do with a bigger duvet on the kingsized bed and more lighting in the room. Minor things really.
We went for my husbands birthday. We took are bulldog winston and had a great time. Staff so friendly and winston was spoilt with biscuits. Bedroom was wonderful plenty of room for the three of us. Food was amazing. We will be returning soon with another couple and winston of course.
This lovely quaint hotel was right on the high street so ideal for looking around the town and close to lots of other attractions throughout the cotswolds. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the Restaurant was really excellent.
Brilliant service, lovely old coaching inn, good food - perfect weekend break!
Nothing, but coat hooks in the bedroom would be handy.
I love this hotel; its been my 4th yearly stay here and in a different room each time. I've only ever stayed in the feature rooms up until this last visit, which are all beautiful and luxurious. The room we had this time was also lovely as a standard room and I would also recommend these. The staff are always so friendly, with nothing being too much trouble. The restaurant is lovely with a menu offering a good range of both classic and al a carte. Breakfast is amazing.
That we had to leave for another year :(
Good restaurant; friendly staff
The massive bath
Food was outstanding. Staff very nice.
The hotel has a good location staff are friendly.
Our room 104 was so small it should only be used as a single. The shower didn't work with only a drible of water. Food terrible not enough staff to deal with service. Wait 1 hour between starter and main meal then couldn't eat the awful main course. Breakfast next day no room in restaurant had to go in the bar, long wait again. Staff trying there best but will never stay at this hotel again.
The Hotel was very cosy and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful. Comfy bed! Lovely dinner and breakfast.
My husband and I spent two very comfortable nights in this hotel. Staff were very helpful, had a meal in the restaurant which was lovely bs relaxed in the evening with drinks by an amazing open fire. Well done we would definitely stat here again and recommend.
Only stayed two nights would have loved longer .
only half slice black oudding for breakfast looks mean and one small egg and sausage also disappointing
Stable room was great, well furnished with a fantastic bathroom. Restaurant staff were lovely and very helpful and polite. Food was nice too. Just what we wanted a nice relaxing weekend and lots of places to travel to nearby.
Loved how they restored the building. Parking was very easy too.
The room was a little small but cute! Would have been nice a little bigger and the shower was not great at all!
Friendly staff comfy bed big clean room
Helpful and polite staff. Sitting by the fireplace in the bar was nice.
Chef was sick one day and it created a problem for dining.
The staff were excellent as was the food in the restaurant. Nice cozy lounges and bar area.
Room 112 had a damp smell to it but is also is a 600 year old property too. Just something that the hotel may want to look into.
Location was perfect right in the heart of a beautiful Cotswold Village
I had to point out to the staff at breakfast that grapefruit segments were supposed to be served without the rind as they were presented as if they were oranges being served to a junior football team at halftime , and the toaster was very hit and miss with toast either coming out like bread or burnt to a crisp because it had to be recoiled several times to get the correct texture, but they are the only 2 things I would like to see addressed. Otherwise everything was very good.
Location was excellent and lovely pub atmosphere
Very poor breakfast both from staffing levels and quality of breakfast - we paid nearly £200 per night for bed and breakfast and would expect better service and quality.
Great food, lovely room and very friendly and relaxing atmosphere
The stay was relaxing, very enjoyable. The staff are very friendly, polite and the hotel is superb.
The shower in our room was very small.
