excellent location, friendly staff
needs updating in some places
The manager always rings his guests before they arrive The staff were friendly & very helpful The Hotel is very spacious clean &food is good service is great We love the location of it too in the town walk to the shops It is in a lovely Town
I cannot think of a thing!!
Alround service good food excellent breakfast menu outstanding would defiantly would recommend.
There was underwear left in the bathroom from a previous guest.
Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable accommodation, good menu, right in the town centre, good parking, room cleaned everyday and to a high standard.
The water pressure in the shower was relatively weak. The wifi is 'The Cloud' this was extremely poor in speed and dropped connectivity a number of times. The hotel would benefit from installing its own broadband wifi such BT Infinity and sharing the password amongst guests, having a seperate account for the rooms to the 'general bar patrons' so the account wasn't overwhelmed.
Excellent attitude of staff and their overall keenness to make our stay very pleasant
Piped music in the restaurant!
the breakfast was great, evening meal was fine, room was large, free parking, barman was lovely so was waitress in the morning
couldn't open window, bathroom door had to be slammed to shut it, heard two female staff arguing
Staff courteous and helpful in every way possible.
Late night noise from the courtyard below the room. Price of taxis from the hotel to outlying areas is horrendous, this is in no way the fault of the hotel (blame the local council), just a warning to take out a 2nd mortgage if you decide to go out of town on a Sunday and don't want to drive!
I liked the old world charm; the breakfast was excellent and the waitress was very helpful and polite. There was no problem parking, but the Hotel could do with warning people about the one way system in the centre of the town which makes it difficult to access the Hotel.
There were a lot of stairs and very windy and uneven corridors. Not suitable for anyone elderly or with disabilities or a heavy suitcase. When we arrived the gentleman on Reception was most attentive, but when we left no one seemed very concerned about the quality of our stay. We asked for a quiet room and there was noisy music going on underneath our room until 11pm.[so I wonder if our request had been noted].
The breakfast is great for the price. Its good value The staff are nice
The rooms are very basic The beds are uncomfortable Its a little noisy at night
Location, large room, good breakfast
Parking. Shared with public, a bit of a nightmare really.
Nice welcome from Steve on reception. Rooms well sound proofed. Lovely colour scheme and furnishings in rooms 15 and 8. Super walk in shower in 15.. Comfortable beds and clean room. Breakfast was substantial overall v good experience. .
Parking area v busy... no one asked for feedback on departure.
Friendly staff.good breakfast.great location.
Decor in bedroom 1 and 2 poor.mum had no plug in sink .no hand rail in shower for disabled .no lift .lots of stairs.no drawers not enough space to unpack.
Warm welcome inc offer to carry bag upstairs. Room spacious, well fitted, shower particularly good. Decor of the curved stairway a great choice of paintwork colour and simple additions.
Minor things a) curtain didn't fully close (mentioned as we left as probably just needs attachment mending and b) cold water from the bathroom didn't run cold so water to drink at bedtime/night was very warm.
Secure parking, Excellent breakfast good bar food Very friendly staff
The rooms were lovely and very homely
The breakfast is nice
I had family join me for dinner one night in the bar/rest, the service was not that good.
bed excellent staff hard working meals were fine
bathroom needed redecorating disappointed with the sausage it was hard (old spot more like old sausage) the lamp shade was hideously too big and lowly situated i hit my head on it a couple of times i am 6ft2ins
staff very friendly and helpful offer to eat 3 meals and get one free wine offer
0% fat yoghurt - too much sugar semi-skimmed milk - no other choice bedroom doors closing needed to be SLAMMED to lock - very sudden noise - disturbing in early hours and during evening
Pleasant atmosphere and staff. Nice rooms. Price was not cheap but value for money!
Unfortunately my room was next to some sort of small plant room and the humming noise was a bit of a pain but once asleep i didnt notice and was ok :) !
For a one night stay it was not bad
Good size rooms, comfortable beds, decent bathroom/shower. Characterful old building, good breakfast. Good value
Slow service at the bar
Good location. Quiet.
No lift but we knew this before booking.
Service was great, food was lovely and the room comfy
I would have liked service to room as we miss breakfast one morning and would have liked a late bar
