The Premier Inn Braintree hotel is well placed on the A120, with comfortable en suite rooms and the family-friendly Brewers Fayre restaurant. The hotel has a free on-site car park.

accommodation, staff, facilities, food.
very tight car park
Very comfortable bed.
The room was exceptionally cold on arrival at 21.45. I think that as the room was pre booked the heating could have been turned on earlier in the evening.
Good Location Friendly Staff Comfortable rooms
Bar was under staffed early in the evening. It also closed at 11pm with no other option to get a drink.
very pleasant stay with good food and friendly staff
Great value. Personal service by all staff making you feel welcome. Excellent tea coffee and hot chocolate making facilities in room with biscuits. Restaurant good. Good selection at breakfas
The room was at the front of the hotel/bar and was 'olde worlde' and quirky. Uneven floor, beams and furniture in keeping with the age of the building. Maybe not to everyone's taste but I liked it. Nice restaurant, good selection of foods.
Stairs would be no good for people with mobility problems. No coasters or like for your cups or glasses so the wood tables in room can be spoiled.
The staff were friendly and polite and informative also helpful. The room was comfortable and clean...thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast which was fresh and a great selection...
Cannot fault this hotel, we booked for a 1 night stay wish we had booked for longer.Food and comfort was excellent, staff so friendly. Will certainly go back again..
All, everything was good and the man that checked me in last Saturday was very good. Will be staying again.
The hotel is very nice, really nicely decorated and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was excellant for dinner and breakfast, and both had a really good selection.
The room was very hot as the heating was on, even though the windows were open. This resulted in a disturbed nights sleep.
Good location in the heart of the city. Very friendly staff. Excellent meal options in the downstairs restaurant. Generous breakfast.
Oddly, no toiletries available in the rooms.
Location was perfect for my trip
Couldn't get wifi working
Good quality food and pleasant staff. Accommodation was clean and comfortable.
Dinner service was very very slow - it took two hours to have a simple three course meal for one. I had to ask for my second and third courses to be prepared and served.
excellent position close to railway friendly accomodating staff
excellent location, friendly staff
needs updating in some places
The manager always rings his guests before they arrive The staff were friendly & very helpful The Hotel is very spacious clean &food is good service is great We love the location of it too in the town walk to the shops It is in a lovely Town
I cannot think of a thing!!
From the moment we stepped in the door you knew you were onto something good. On our 8 week trip around the UK this was the cheapest accommodation that we had booked and at the time a little wary so only booked the one night, but wished we had stayed longer. Everything was just faultless from food, service, staff, cleanliness etc. This was also the only hotel that served perfect poached eggs for breakfast!!!! Well done Chef. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and family in England and told them that they should book a weekend away in lovely Braintree.
Alround service good food excellent breakfast menu outstanding would defiantly would recommend.
There was underwear left in the bathroom from a previous guest.
Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable accommodation, good menu, right in the town centre, good parking, room cleaned everyday and to a high standard.
The water pressure in the shower was relatively weak. The wifi is 'The Cloud' this was extremely poor in speed and dropped connectivity a number of times. The hotel would benefit from installing its own broadband wifi such BT Infinity and sharing the password amongst guests, having a seperate account for the rooms to the 'general bar patrons' so the account wasn't overwhelmed.
Excellent attitude of staff and their overall keenness to make our stay very pleasant
Piped music in the restaurant!
the breakfast was great, evening meal was fine, room was large, free parking, barman was lovely so was waitress in the morning
couldn't open window, bathroom door had to be slammed to shut it, heard two female staff arguing
Staff courteous and helpful in every way possible.
Late night noise from the courtyard below the room. Price of taxis from the hotel to outlying areas is horrendous, this is in no way the fault of the hotel (blame the local council), just a warning to take out a 2nd mortgage if you decide to go out of town on a Sunday and don't want to drive!
I liked the old world charm; the breakfast was excellent and the waitress was very helpful and polite. There was no problem parking, but the Hotel could do with warning people about the one way system in the centre of the town which makes it difficult to access the Hotel.
There were a lot of stairs and very windy and uneven corridors. Not suitable for anyone elderly or with disabilities or a heavy suitcase. When we arrived the gentleman on Reception was most attentive, but when we left no one seemed very concerned about the quality of our stay. We asked for a quiet room and there was noisy music going on underneath our room until 11pm.[so I wonder if our request had been noted].
The breakfast is great for the price. Its good value The staff are nice
The rooms are very basic The beds are uncomfortable Its a little noisy at night
