nice staff good location in the centre of town. Food good value. If you have a walking problem the stairs are very steep and the room was very uneven. But a lovely quaint hotel.

Staff very friendly and competent. Food and refreshments excellent and served in warm and comfortable surroundings. The only negative side to our stay was that our room was in poor decorative order , paintwork yellowing, mould arround bathroom tiles etc., and some refurbishment is necessary.

Excellent Staff and great breakfast. Broken toilet seat in room - the Manager was apologetic, but could not resolve as we were only staying one night. Internal decoration very poor and needs a refresh. Carpets jaded. Car parking very tight especially close to the hotel. Difficult for us as we have a large car. A sign needs to be sited at the exit to the car park to indicate 'Left Turn' only, as the road is one way. Yoy cannot easily see the 'No Entry' signs when you leave the hotel car park. This point requires urgent attention if serious accidents are to be avoided.

Food was fine, rooms in old part of hotel could definately do with a spruce up, bathrooms in "new part" of hotel need up dating. An over all clean would help as well. Didnt like the rooms at all

Good value food and accomodation. Will stay again if in the area I stayed in the old part of the building. Floor were very uneven but not unsafe. The headend of the bed was lower than the footend.

Bathroom toilet seat had broken hinge on lid to seat. Shower curtian had BLACK MOULD on the bottom 300mm of its length. Torn Net Curtain was visible on entering the room which appeared depressing and in need of redecoration. Having looked forward to my stay in this fine looking old Coaching Inn,I was sadly dissapointed. My next stay in Braintree will not be at the White Hart Hotel.

It was ideal for what I needed for the one night. Car park. Well looked after. Good food. Comfortable. The first room I was first offered smelt very badly of smoke. I was immediately offered another room which was fine, but whoever cleaned the room should have reporeted it and the room put out of service until it was sorted, rather than a customer report it.

Staff were friendly and helpful, service was good, decent choice for breakfast, food in the bar was good. Although the staff and public areas of the hotel were excellent, the room needs a bit of updating, the chair in the room was falling apart, the radiator did not work (although an electric heater was provided) the towel rail had fallen off the wall leaving part of the mounting brackets behind. There was also a lot of street noise.

The facilities of the hotel were good with no problems getting food for breakfast or dinner - they would even do a packed lunch if needed. The room itself was nicely decorated and I slept very well. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around and was an excellent location for my purpose. The bathroom was extremely dated and was in desperate need of a refurb

What I liked about the white hart hotel was the manager when we arrived was very helpful , the view from our front window onto the town below was good, and the mattress was very comfortable , often hotel matresses are too hard but that one was very comfy. There is far more that we didnt like about the hotel . firstly the room was very very dark , was unable to see to do makeup or hair , used the bathroom to do my makeup but insufficient surfaces to put make up bag down and that wasnt good when doing my hair as hair dryer and plug for curling tongs was on the other side of the suite, the room needs a central main light, the main problem was the bed , whether there was a bolt or something missing from underneath but everytime one of us moved the bed squeaked loudly , hence waking us up again , we were a group of 8 (3 rooms booked the other 2 couples were booked into the newer part of the hotel and were satisfied with there rooms)we were in room 29 and in the old part of the hotel , I appreciate the floor creaking and even being unlevel but I dont accept the state of the bed . when we were in the bar ordering our meals 4 were ordered and the staff were told that we were a group of 8 and could we have all the meals together , we were told that would be ok. We then ordered the next 4 meals , told them it was a group order , 10 minutes later the first 4 meals arrived so they had almost finished there meals when the last 4 arrived we found that unacceptable .I did fill in the form left in our room explaining these problems but have had no response.

Both me and my partner were very impressed with how helpful and polite the staff that we interacted with were. We stayed in the Cressing suite and were particularly impressed with both the cleanliness of the room and the decorating. We both thoroughly enjoyed our night and already have recommended it to friends and family. It's a shame that the location is in a high street because a nice view would have just been the icing on the cake. However, this cannot be helped and did not make our stay any less enjoyable.

It was convenient, price was very good value and there was no hassle from the moment we checked in to the moment we left. The booking stated it was room only and found that it in fact included breakfast - which made £50 for one night very good!
